Tickets are sold by every hostel, hotel and tour company. You arrive they hand you a ticket for train and entrance / exit paperwork for Thialand. You get one guy to stamp you out and collect your money.

Im sad there's no "0 star" option available. A train full of people arrived in the morning from thailand and there was only 1 person at the immigration check point. The service was slow and awful. What a first great image of the country we see when we arrive.
I'm kindly asking the Laos gvt to make some changes here as it is really really needed.response / report this review -

It doesn't has regular bus transportation on Laos side, only tuk-tuk with overvalued prices.
