It is really good place, just to relax from urban routine. It may seam a little hard for the first time hiking people. But worth it, because you can skate on special skaters on the way back.

My visit in this magical place is unforgettable. I went up here during the spring of 2017. The colors of the mountain half white half green and the blue skies. At the city's reservoir you can see the immense humbacked mountains that goes up through Kyrgyzstan and China. It was lovely. There are few tourists here. You can camp or picnics.

Concessions of road sides given to the private sector seem to be the only attraction for visitors. Saw very few trails maintained so far.

Absolutely gorgeous and a must see when you are in almaty. It's a popular weekend destination for locals and domestic tourists. I visited in mid-Oct and the roads were already slippery because of the snow/ice - good vehicles/shoes necessary!

Lake is beautiful, although it's a hassle to get there. Best plan: bus 28 to last stop, then taxi to lake. 4000-6000 Tenge. Worth it if you like nature.
