  Poor experience since I was deceived with the price I paid for the Sharyn Canyon tour. The other person with me on the tour paid less money since I paid the full deposit. Avoid.

  I went there for the free walking tour (tips based). The guide was delayed 30 minutes, even when the other person in front desk apologize, they should avoid such issues. He suggested us to have our own tour using the app izi.travel. We decided to wait for guide. She was friendly, with good English but need to improve her guide skills: walked really fast, started talking before we arrived the point, etc. At the end it was less than 1.5 hours and she didn't give us any tips about how to take the most from our visit to Almaty, where else to go, etc. Now I went through the app and realized everything she said was there. Also the company should provide her t-shirt to improve presentation. It doesn't worth the time.

  AVOID. Had emailed before arriving in Almaty received nothing back so went in today. Only 1 person in office I explained I was here until Saturday and wanted to know what tours they had and wanted to book big Almaty lake. Was told these tours only happened at weekend unless want to do private, said fine how much she replied too expensive advised me to either find my own driver or book somewhere else, pushed for a price after she spent 10 minutes telling me about weekend tours - again told her I couldn't do - then tried to book me to see a different lake. Eventually got a price to be told not sure if they could do. Gave up went to Nice Places travel agency down the road and in 5 minutes booked the tour I wanted and another one no problem at all.

  Helpful tourist office in Almaty. They're able to organize tours to the surrounding sites (Big Lake, Canyon etc.) for a reasonable price. The lady we spoke to had excellent English. Note that the center is located in the Dostyk Hotel. Go through the big revolving doors and the center is on your left.
