Great school the fun is there the friends are there I loved the school and the teachers are great they have everything thing a good cafeteria where you can sit In a swimming pool big basketball court it evens has a playground for kg and reception I was there all the way to kg to year 5 I made great friends and memories but I sadly had to leave that was one of the hardest thing I have ever done I’m my life bye

Kuwait National English School may look at a smaller school compared to many other schools in Kuwait, especially the British schools. Moving from Abu Dhabi to Kuwait, I was anxious that my daughter would not adjust to a completely new culture and environment in addition to a new school. At first, she had some challenges, but then she started making friends and enjoying her teachers. During the parents' meeting that took place remotely, I had the chance to meet each and every teacher who taught my daughter, and I was super impressed with their characters and personalities. My daughter would always have a comment or two, usually in teachers, especially those who have to use high-pitched tone. In KNES, she was happy with all the teachers. Her confidence helped her to mingle and adapt to any environment and to make friends. As a parent I don't only look at education but how the child's personality will be developed to help him or her manage today's requirements as it is totally different from how it was five and ten and fifteen years ago. Emotional intelligence is super important to me as much as academic excellence, and KNES does show a high potential to provide both to children.
They are open to meeting with and are always willing to hear parents' suggestions and consider them if they can accommodate them. We can't forgot that they can't do anything according to them but as a school it is a really good place for western British education to help our children go to great universities and they seem to be developing many initiatives and more education leadership excellence is taking place. 👌

The school started applying strict policies to enforce discipline and order, and it has shown tremendous improvement in many areas. To this, I congratulate the school for this achievement.

KNES is a wonderful institution where the level of pedagogy is unmatched. I can say with all confidence that my experiences at KNES has allowed to make steadfast progress in international institutions of higher learning and beyond. Madame Chantal and her support has been foundational to my success in the academy and for that I will forever be immensely grateful.

One of the worst schools in Kuwait. They get rid of their best teachers to replace them with the cheapest they can find. Just ask your children how many teachers have left this year. They routinely break Kuwait labor law to steal money from their teachers and you wonder why teachers openly tell the students they hate their jobs! Avoid this school if you are a teacher or a parent.

This school is good but I faced one problem..and it was me being bulliedI saw all of the school posters saying "stop bullying" and sll that type of stuff..but i just feel that the posters are hanged there nonthinglesslyLike it has no reason..cuz bullies dont even care about it!!!!

I enrolled my kids in KNES “school” for 2 years and it was the worse decision in our life. It was a disaster since they were not getting the education that they need. I sincerely don’t know how KNES is a credited school?! The curriculum will always be useless if you don’t apply it properly and if you don’t have a qualified staff to apply it. High school is a complete mess.

We then took a brave decision and moved them out and it turned out to be the best decision of our life and my kids are now much happier and are getting the quality education that they need.

Move your kids away from the English curriculum in general and KNES in particular to the American system and you and your kids will not regret it for sure.

The above is based on my own honest feedback but i feel obliged to sharing with all parents for the sake of their kids.

I’ve been in many schools and this school is by far the worst school I have ever encountered. It has very poor education and the director doesn’t care about students’ education, all she cares about is making as much profit as possible. Also, it is critically disorganized and there’s always poor chemistry between the director and most of the staff members. This school needs to be reworked on.

I've been in KNES for over 5 years and I was completely oblivious to how badly it was managed and how disorganised it was, It's the perfect school to socialize especially when you've been there for a long time, you become popular and that's suddenly the most important thing.

I used to tell myself that this school is amazing and is probably the best school I'll ever be in, but when I left, everything changed. KNES has helped me become socially confident- but that's it. I have also realized that I was only that confident because I knew literally everyone in that school so speaking in assemblies and in front of the classes was no big deal, KNES is definetely fun but when you go to university (or even worse when you start thinking about your IGCSE options) you realize that you're lost, all this school has ever provided is give you self confidence but only inside school premises. Then when you try to find what else this school has provided it would be friendships with teachers-seriously though, the teachers were L.I.T!! (Only because they were fun and they would let you do whatever you wanted to do if you begged for some time) The arabic teachers don't accept that kind of behaviour so they were basically the most disrespected humans inside the school. The school is also quite small - compared to the all KG, primary and secondary schools in Kuwait - KNES is like a virtual reality or simulation game, no matter how much confidence or education you think you have gained, it's always within school premises, KNES does not prepare you for the outside world.

Teachers see themselves as people who are very much like slaves working for the school director, and without mentioning names (not even sure the teachers that did that are in the school anymore) I have heard most teachers speak badly of the director and I one hundred percent don't blame them, yes she does strive for perfection and she is a good director although, she does make the teachers feel underrated to the point where they always feel somewhat humiliated by this school and try their best to finish the school year without a problem and there were situations where teachers have just left the school and left a class with no teacher until KNES figured out how to get a replacement because of a horrible reason, of course, I'm only a student but I do know there were problems with salaries and financial earnings throughout every year.

Every review that says the school is perfect are students, some of them I personally know who were my best friends, they were brainwashed into loving this school because of the close friendships they created and I have to admit that over the summer all I have been thinking about is that I have moved away from the closest people to me, but honestly I'm glad I did, I'm still in touch with my friends and I made new friend who unlike my Bffs in KNES, are actually concerned with their studies and we have fun too, that's how it should be, balanced, my old friends and I used to only talk about people's business, the drama between girls, gossip, how we want to kill ourselves because of one homework assigment that we don't feel like doing etc etc. I realized that I wasted time in this school and I'm way happier where I am, I have also met many people that were in KNES and have moved to the school I'm currently in and they definitely agree with the word I'm typing right now. Yes, it has been a huge part of my life that I will never forget, but those are just the fun memories I created, if you're looking for a school to gossip and play playstation at a teacher's house on a Friday because he's one of your best friends and be left in the middle of the year tecaher-less and not be able to find a class for your math lesson because all the classes are taken and the number of classes are limited in this cute little school then please come to KNES, honestly. It is not a garbage school but it is managed very poorly, and is disorganised. Can teachers that are unhappy with their salary make a school decent? no, they can't.

I've been in this school for all my life and I'd never change schools, it's not the best in Kuwait, but it isn't bad either

I am an ex-teacher of this school. The only reason you should wish to work in this school is for the salary (it is tax-free!). I honored my 1-year contract and stayed until the end however, I have very little positive memories of this school.

First and foremost, KNES was so disorganised and poor in communicating with their staff that I can't believe it is still running now. No wonder so many members of staff left after the 1 year, or even during the holidays! It should say a lot if staff were sneaking out of the teachers' buildings and catching early flights home without notice.

The management team were poor and although act experienced; had very little knowledge of what exactly they required from their staff. The teachers were left with little direction, no support and became extremely stressed due to the added deadlines. They had this 'pass the buck' attitude and a very fake demeanor towards their teachers. What made it worse was that NO APPRECIATION was given after all the teachers' hard work.
It seemed that all of management have an attitude of 'you get paid enough, so we don't need to say thank you for a job well done!'

You will get deducted for any little thing in this school. If they do not like your attitude - deduction! If you are seen (during your free) chatting to another teacher in the corridor - deduction! If you are caught on your mobile in the classroom (when the school internet is down and you want to check your school emails) - deduction! If you are late 2 minutes - deduction! If you fight for your rights in the office of Madame Chantal or your Head of department - deduction! It seemed that this 'school' was running more of a business and just wanted to squeeze every bit of money out of you.

There was a lack of true care for education and the children, so if you end up working at KNES - this is all up to you as the classroom teacher. You will get very little to no support when it comes to issues concerning the child themselves. KNES had about 4 primary teacher assistants that the teachers shared between overcrowded classes of children. If you have a child that needs one-to-one, forget it! Madame Chantal (the director) was so hooked on saving money that she refused to hire another TA even though it would've made so much difference to the child's education.

KNES does very little to cater for the children's needs.

Staff moral was extremely low when I worked here and I've heard that it has not been great over the past few years; especially when the place is run by a money-grabbing director and her untrustworthy, incompetent team of managers.
The teachers in this school are all in the same boat so they will be the only ones that truly understand your hell.

You will be expected to do after-school clubs however; you are not paid extra for this. In my current school (in Kuwait), they pay you per child that is in your club! You are given a cut of what the school makes! :)

This 'school' needs to do a lot more if they want to keep their staff happy in the future. It was a revolving door of teachers last year - I doubt that it is any different this year.

If you are thinking of working in Kuwait; look for other schools with more support and a healthier work-life balance. I guarantee that you will be much more happier. If in doubt, contact KNES for a visit and see for yourself.

hi, I have been in this school for 4 years now and to be honestly honest, I have never had a problem until this year, I had to choose my IGCSE options and many people had a problem with it, everyone was freaking out and starting thinking of leaving the school, but then all parents and students had a meeting with the the head of secondary and in the end everything was sorted out. Another thing I saw people complaining about is teachers, but if you just talk to the teachers and tell them what is wrong they would help you, in my experience all teachers have been really kind to me and if I had a problem either me or my parents would talk to them and then it would all be sorted out. So if you have a problem all you have to do is talk about it and then it would all be sorted out.
If you keep complaining about the money and director you should really talk to her, the only reason your problems are not being solved it is because no one ever talked to the director about their problems. Dont expect your problems are going to be solved by them selves.

I am an Ex-KNES student from September2012 to June 2013, I am going to talk about my experience and the other students that were with me in the same curriculum first let’s talk about the school system that wasn’t professionally managed also we had a director named Ms. Chantal Al Gharablly she was using her position in the school management as a weapon. She would fire any teacher at any time of the Curriculum year. The problem that she didn’t care about her students because she effects the students because the new teacher would have to teach from the beginning. As I said I am an Ex-KNES Student and I got to experience what the affect is because it affected me studying and it would affect your son/daughter studying life too. Let’s talk about the teachers, they don’t care if a student would understand what they are teaching, if someone said to the teacher that he doesn’t understand he/she would literally send him to the management. Secondly the teacher would most of the time physically abuse the student for example (Hitting the Student and actually throwing students out of class.) and emotionally abuse for example (Shouting to a specific student in front of the rest of the class and would make fun of his English accent etc….). The school has lots of everything, like a big sized gym and big playground and a library and a computer lab but… it all outdated and some of the equipment’s are broken and unsafe for your children to be around. Your son may be left out for a long time without any friends. Bullying is spread all over the school, Kuwaitis and even the non-Kuwaitis are acting tough. As an Ex-KNES student I never saw a school doesn’t care about a student attendance than this school they give suspension for just being late. What I am trying to say that they exaggerate their strictness.

I've been in this school for years and I finally left it (wish I did a long time ago). The school simply sucks. The director doesn't care about her students at all; she fires teachers in the middle of the term and leaves the students without a teacher. She also never listens to her students. All she cares about is money and she'd do anything for itshe even lies for it all the time. So, if you want your children to get a good education and you're considering this disgusting, horrible school, you better remove it from your list of choices for your childrens' sake.

My brother attended this school some years ago. In school he was set upon by a bunch of Kuwaiti students who beat him up simply because he was an easy target and they could. He ended up with a serious knee injury that required surgery. As he was an expatriate and the perpetrators were Kuwaiti boys no disciplinary action was taken. The school did not offer an apology.
If you want your child in a school staffed by third rate teachers who are in the gulf only because they could not get a well paying job in their own countries and that caters to a herd of undisciplined entitled kids, this is the one for you.
