Very disgusted and horrible experienced I had in this embassy. I can't even give 1 star. Starting from the Security guard, they were rude and unprofessional.
We (me and my friend) applied for schengen visa thru al qabas on 16 Aug. We supposed to fly on 10 Sep for a Cruise. Of course, we submitted all documents with all the confirmation, from flights, hotels & MSC Cruise and travel insurance as wellit's all PAID. Without knowing that we will not recieved our visas on time and was pending in italian embassy almost over a month I had recieved the text message from Alqabas saying that my friend's passport was ready to collect but when we went there, only brown envelope without passport inside and the reception guy said that the passport weren't there and it's still in italian embassy and he said that text message was a mistake, so we waited, without giving us the correct information when we will get our passport. We did had hoped that even too late they would stamp the visa at least. After over a month they asked us to collect our passport in italian embassy without anything on it. So why they have to kept our passport for almost a month and we didn't get the visa?? They should called us on the first week that we submitted our application and advised us to collect the passport itself and no chance to get the visa.
At the end of the day, we cancelled our trip obviously the Cruise are strictly non refundable then we just wasted most of our money that we saved for this trip. I don't know if our application was failed due to our nationality?? How I wish we know the reason why we failed in getting our visa very frustrating. For those who are planning to go in Europe, think 100 times not to waste your money. Because they will not take consideration on how much you spend they will not care about it..and if you asked them they wouldn't give you the right answer.

The service of the Italian Embassy is just very sad. I'm traveling with my GF ( soon to be my Wife), she is from Philipiness and I'm an USA Citizen,
I applied for her visa in Kuwait (where I reside at the present) to travel to Spain ( 5 days) and to Italy (7 days), and because I'm in Italy 1 more day I have to apply to this Embassy and by fully
complying with all the requirements :travel tickets ( non refundable round trip) all the Hotel reservations ( some are not refundable) Paid over $200 Dollars for the applications and her health insurance, to find out in 2 days later that her Visa was not accepted. Furthermore, they did not return my original documents: letters/ contracts with my employer
My USA affidavit and so on and so on
    Summary:
I have paid over $7,000.00 for this trip!!!!!
They prefer to accept refugees in lieu of American Citizens . I believe that our Government United States should also restrict access From European Citizens
My money and my time will be well spent in Asian Countries
My advice to the future travelers is to think 10 times prior to going to Europe
Let them have it all the Syrian refugees and wishing them in good luck
