Nothing like coming in to here after a late night flight, and then finding out lodging has no linens. It’s not like this place has been open for the past 25+ years.

Well it's an Air Force base,so of course it has everything.Chowhall is great,there's Green Beans coffee,Charlies,and Subway,PX with alot of stuff.And wifi in the chowhall and all the brownstone barracks and Greenbeans.What more do need in a "deployment".Be sure to check out Avenues mall if you can get a chance to get off base.

My review is based on general facilities and not Sleeping quarters as I did not stay on base. This base in general is a nice place to be stationed. Compared to other bases in the Centcom AOR this base has pretty much everything to live comfortably. It has a decent DFAC, PX, Movie theater, Gym, the MWR is also cozy and has plenty of entertainment(pool tables, ping pong, TVs, video game room etc..), there is an outside inline skate hockey court and also a Pool. The Green Beans coffee is a very frequented spot as it also has a small library, TVs and couches for people to go read, have quiet time or study. Inside the green beans shop there are also phones to make morale calls and DSN calls. On base you will also find other places to eat such as Italian restaurant and bar, pizza place, subway, restaurant offering local foods such as Shawarmas, Phily cheese steak spot, basking Robin's. There is a Military Auto source if you wish to purchase a vehicle at a good discounted price. The base has a Post Office and also a Chapel. I did laundry at 2 different places and this why I gave 4 stars.. the Laundry machines, specially the dryers, need attention. The first place I went pretty much the dryers were junk and it took me 2 hours to just dry my clothes. On another place on base I dried my clothes in 45 minutes(big difference).
The American side of base is not big so you can pretty much walk everywhere and all the facilities and entertainment is within a 5 to 10 minute walk.

I’m pretty sure this place sucks. I passed through several times and fortunately wasn’t there long enough to get the full effect so I can’t honestly say, “Yes, this place sucks.”

Spent six months here! The food was amazing. With a Subway and a Charlies, they almost have as much choice as AJ! 4 star luxury tents for the junior airmen. Wonderful views of sand, sand, and more sand!

Sarcasm aside, of all the places in the Middle East to deploy, Ali is one of the better ones. It's boring, but that's a good thing. The command there is always trying to get activities organized. The food gets dull after six months, but where is that not true?

Spent 4 months here as a power plant operator in 1999. Saw EOD blow up a pile of old munitions which was awesome! British GR1 Tornados used to do low flyovers over the tent city when everyone was asleep which sucked! And got to see all the bombed out aircraft bunkers that we hit during the first gulf war. Awesome memories

Stayed here for 2 weeks enroute to Afghanistan in 2009. Tent City was just as I expecteddirty and crowded. Then again, it is a processing depot for us soldiers heading for combat. Chow and PX services were alright. Just don't expect much, and you'll be alright.

Great experience, I was there for 6 months (four would have been optimal). I was in the EMEDS right across the street from the dining facility. Good food, took a bit to get used to it. Pizza Hut and Subway were ok, but not exactly like home. SPA Sunday/Monday was always wonderful. Treat yourself to a pedicure or massage. Gym had everything you could think of in it. All types of sports from basketball to soccer. Several Church Services, this was Outstanding. And Cup of Joe, $2 off specialty coffees and free DVD library. Great experience, just HOT!!!

Fond memories of this place, even getting nicked by the Chief of Police for driving 'enthusiastically', was a pleasure. He made me a gorgeous cup of tea and asked for a donation to charity. The food in the dining hall was outstanding! My first ever visit to a Mosque was a wonderful experience. Kuwaitis are genuinely warm, friendly people.
