I've been to this place many times, I think this place an amazing place for the people who loves hiking. And this place is very nature-friendly place like great natural landscape architectures, trees, waterfalls, caves and pavilions. So it's a good place to heal your mind and feel the nature. It could be little bit hard to get there, but I highly recommend this place for visitors from other countries.

I love hiking, and this place is a dream come true, with hours of walking trails, many of them shaded, so no worries about getting sunburned, lol! You can get a map from the information center so you can plan where you want to go, from short and easy, to long and challenging hikes.
There's also a great Cafeteria with anything you need, I literally mean anything, lol! also a great gift/Jewelry shop, I've bought a few things there, and it's really great quality, also quite limited designs if you're looking for something special.
The place was built by a novice landscaper/Pastor, with really great stories to entertain if you're into that type of thing. I found it really interesting how the rocks were stacked, and if you're lucky you can actually still see how they are constructing some parts.
There's also an art museumbasically this place really has a wide variety of things to entertain and keep you busy, no matter what your preference. It's great for a day trip, but there's also good transport and accommodation nearby if you want to stay longer.
Would definitely recommend it.
Like I said it was built by a Pastor, so there is a big church building as well, and they often have big events there, so make sure when those are if you do/don't want to go there when there's thousands of people.
The staff are really friendly and accommodating, and if you contact in advance, you can get guides to show you around as well.
If you're more into spiritual stuff, this is really a great place to pray, relax, unwind. Just being in that beautiful scenery already makes you feel more connected.response / report this review -

Wolmyeongdong is a place you have to visit at least once if you are in Korea. I've taken a few 360 pictures to give you an idea of what it's like, but I don't know if they do it justice. The image rocks in particular are mind blowing. "How can such things exist?" You have to see it to believe it.

Breathtakingly beautiful.
No words can describe how incredible this place is. Wolmyeongdong is amazing not just because of its beautiful natural scenery - it boasts of the most incredible rock landscaping, miles of hiking trails, towering pine trees, natural caves etc. - but because of the intense emotions of happiness and peace that it invokes in you. It is a place of healing; a place of physical and spiritual rejuvenation.
God truly rests in this place - You can feel Him the trees, the rocks, the water, the mountain cliffs everywhere you go and look, He is there. And it is SUCH an exhilarating experience to feel Him so closely to you.
Go visit Wolmyeongdong - regardless of whether you have a relationship with God or not. Go there by yourself, or with your family and friends. Go there to recharge, heal or just to immerse in nature. You will feel all your anxieties and worries melt away and be happier and more peaceful than you've ever felt.
PS. You experience different things during the different seasons in Wolmyeongdong. Of course, pick your favorite season to visit, but I highly recommend you to try out all the seasons. :)response / report this review -

I visited Wolmyeongdong in August 2014. It is a place of absolute peace and beauty! There is so much history behind Wolmyeongdong; every rock is placed with such precision and design. The spiritual atmosphere in Wolmyeongdong is like no other place. Events are always taking place, and people are always there working hard to build Wolmyeongdong according to God's design. I think everyone should visit Wolmyeongdong and experience it for themselves!

This place is the most amazing and fascinating place I have ever seen! 🙆 In the main place you will find huge rocks, beautiful trees and a tremendous waterfall.🌊 There are also many hiking trails with breathtaking views which lead you to caves and lookout points~ 🌄 I felt that this place is truely holy and unique. It is build up with so much love in every nut, bolt and screw. More than anywhere else, the nature shows the majesty of it's creator.

Open, vast, and mesmerizing! Breathtaking scenery~~ Nothing short of Heaven on Earth!!! This place is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING and GORGEOUS!!! Impeccable design and artistry!! For those who already believe in God, you can totally feel God's presence there! For those who aren't sure if there's anybody "upstairs," I highly recommend that you visit Wolmyeongdong and see and feel for yourself~~ Go there to recharge, play on the sports field, hike the numerous hiking trails, breathe in the fresh air, enjoy nature, pray if you're spiritually inclined---and when it's permissible, you can even swim in the lake in the summer or skate on it in the winter!!! Two thumbs up!!!

Wolmyeongdong in the winter is amazing! Since Korea has four distinctive seasons, you can also enjoy a different Wolmyeongdong depending on the season! During winter, this retreat center becomes a winter wonderland! You should all definitely check it out! If you come in the winter, just make sure to prepare winter clothes!
