One of the coolest places among the DMZ. You get a good view over a part of North Korea, including 'propaganda village' and a large flag (the world's tallest flagpole according to our guide). You can hear North Korean music streaming from the area. Spend a 500W (the largest) coin to use a binocular for 2 minutes.

Lots of tourists and not much to see into North Korea. Still it's one of the few places where you can actually look into this country. It's worth visiting.

Beautiful panoramic view towards the Kaesong area of North Korea on a clear day. We had clear skies the day we visited, but I was told that the weather is often quite hazy.

Good views of Propaganda Village and area, though no sightings of the claimed "vampire deer." On a clear day you can look out across the peaceful stretch; the calm almost subsumes the fact that it's a contemporary battlefield. But beyond the view, there's not much else; and looks like a decaying tourist stop.

A nice place to go to know about the history of the Korean war. A nice place to also see North Korea up close. The tour presentation is only in Korean though.

5 stars because well its an observatory, how good do you want it to be? It serves it purpose to no fault at all. Its easy to get the change and put it in one of the binoculars. Then check out North Korea woo hoo!

The Dora observatory is a great place to see into North Korea without actually crossing the border at the JSA. It is definitely better to go on a clear day because it tends to get very foggy/hazy. From Dora I saw a few fake NK villages, a real NK village, the giant NK flag and a couple of NK soldiers. I also snapped a selfie with a South Korean solider. Overall, a very cool experience!

If you take a DMZ tour in South Korea, you will most likely end up here. In the observatory you can observe (obviously), North Korea! You can see a close town and the landscape is quite beautiful. It's completely safe and many people there speak English because it's a tourist destination. You can use some coins to look through telescopes and see North Koreans going about there lives! Exciting!

Great place to observe North Korea while being in South Korea! You have to pay to use the telescopes. If you have a camera with long telephoto lens interesting photos are possible if atmospheric conditions are favourable.

Depending on the tour you take and how many ppl are here, you can see and hear some cool stuff. We happened to be there on a N Korea missile launch day with heightened security, shortened tours, and a hazy day. We didn't see too much! But it is definitely a must see tour.
