I did my undergrad at Amherst College, and still remember the first time I stepped on campus. I was in awe of the beauty of the campus, the caliber of the students, and passion of the teachers. Geumgang renewed that sense of wonder and excitement I got when I first started at Amherst.
I taught computer science here during my PhD studies at Yale and it was a career changing opportunity. The unique challenges I faced teaching computer science in a foreign country and culture gave me a new perspective as I consider jobs in academia. At every step of the way, I had the support of the administration and the students.
The campus is also beautiful and secluded, lending itself to getting great research done. Although remote, I was never bored on campus. In addition to always working, there were many fun student events to attend. Additionally, I loved going for hikes on the mountain and visiting the temples on campus.response / report this review -

금강대학교는 충청남도 논산시에 위치한 4년제 대학교입니다.
금강대는 특히 장학금으로도 유명한데요.
학비 전액을 천태종 재단에서 지원해주는 것은 물론 해외대학원 진학시 지원금, 방학기간 중에 있는 해외봉사횔동 전액지원 등 학교의 지원이 많은 학교입니다.
전원 2인 1실의 기숙사 생활을 하게 되어있으며 가까운 대전과 공주로 가는 셔틀 버스가 주말에 있습니다.
학교 분위기는 전체적으로 학구적이며 국가고시를 준비하는 학생들이 많습니다.
학교 주변의 경치가 빼어납니다.
천태종 재단에서 세운 학교라 불교학교라고 오해를 많이 받는데 학교는 불교에 대해 강요하는 것은 전혀 없고 학교자체도 불교 색채는 거의 없습니다.
대학교 생활 동안 공부에 전념하고 싶다던지, 국가고시를 준비하는 학생들에게 적합한 학교라고 생각합니다.response / report this review -
