A good walk of around 5km to see the whole Fortress, lovely view of the city at the top of the Fortress.

The palace grounds aren't amazing, but the neighborhoods around it are friendly, there are a number of nice restaurants and art galleries, and you can take a hike around the old palace walls. It's a nice excursion and it's only 10-15 minutes by bus from Suwon Station.

Key to this site is to see the free shows, that is what moves it from a 4 star to 5 stars. Check before you go what are that times! The show last 1/2 each time.

Very nice historical site. Lots of stuff to do, walking, eating, shooting bows and arrows. If you check it out on a national holiday there will usually be some extra events as well.

Good place to experience Korean culture, for both domestic and foreign people. Nice walk along the mountain wall, and lots of interesting shops near the place.
