The captain of this boat sees white people and rips them all off! BEWARE, HE CHARGES WHATEVER HE FEELS LIKE. I have been on this island 14 years and he tried to overcharge me, never again will I take his ferry.

This guy is a shark, and his buddies/employees (watch out for Sweetpea) that he gets to talk to the tourists while they wait in line won’t give you a straight answer as to how much it costs to travel. We heard 4 different amounts from 4 different people and they were all wrong. I can verify the “tourist prices experience” with Mr. Jones.

If we could do it again, we probably would have just taken a water taxi so our time and money wouldn’t be wasted. The guy was like an hour and a half late all day. But you still have to show up on time so you get a place in line, with no guarantee that you’ll make it on. He must have skipped a few runs.

We tried to take the ferry to Nevis one day, but had no luck. This ferry is terribly run. We got there about 9:20 to catch the 10am ferry, there were about 12 cars in front of us. We thought it wouldn't be an issue, because we read online that the ferry would hold about 30 cars. This was not true at all. The ferry was tiny and held about 10 cars before it got full. I asked one of the employees when it would be back, he replied "it will come right back, 1 hour". Ok, no problem. Well, an hour came and went and there was no sign of the ferry. At this point we had been waiting for 2 hours so we just gave up. We didn't want to waste any more time. Very disappointed. They need a much bigger ferry to keep up with demand. Or at least another smaller one to make more runs. Don't bother getting to try to Nevis this way, unless you have several hours to devote to getting there.

Watch out for special "tourist" prices. This Jones guy tried to charge us twice the regular rate.
