Wouldn't let me check in on time and then overcharged my credit card.
Avoid these scammers at all costs!

Place is falling to pieces (literally), quite over priced food and watch out for sharp objects in the sand (glass & metal). The Western staff is pretty lame expect for one guy that seems to do everything.

I would have given it two stars had I not got food poisoning from their BBQ night.

Beautiful beach and secluded area, however the hostel itself was average.
Expensive food and small portions, however it's the only place to eat.
No WiFi creates a fantastic escape from your phone, definitely a plus in my opinion but up to you.

The rooms weren't fantastic, thin mattresses, in room 1, the fans created lots of noise and didn't work well and caused the room to be very warm, minor maintenance in the bathroom, but otherwise no bugs or pests, all things considered the rooms are substantial.

The most clever tactic they have used here is that you will not pay a cent until you leave, each expense is placed on a tab which is fantastic however we found a few items added incorrectly, something to keep an eye on.

Overall, I would stay again hesitantly, it's a fantastic spot yet an average hostel which is what most of the reviews praise.

A good alternative is a tent on 4K Beach.

Amazing accommodation in a tent for two on a beach which is basically private. Imagine having a beach all to yourself and bioluminscent plankton to keep you company at night.
But a big drawback is that you have to either walk 2 hours to get to this place from the main pier or take a boat for 3 dollars.

GREAT PLACE. The owner and employees are all very nice and there's a chill vibe. The private beach is amazing, saw an incredible starry night and sunrise, and swimming with the plankton is a cool experience. One hundred times better than any of the places on Koh Touch

Very relaxed and remote place. The rooms are very simple. The beds have mosquito nets.

1- For go there is better the Buva Sea company boat and stop in the Romdoul pier. If you go with the other boat companies you will have to walk 1 hour by the beaches.

2-The dorm is ok, the bathroom is inside and is bit dirty and smelly. Cold water, no toiletries (4-6$ per night). Towel included.

3-The double room is an open hut, without doors so take your ear plugs and face mask if you're sensitive to the noise and the morning light. The bathroom are outside and also are smelly (shared with the others huts). Cold water. 20$ per night

4- Friendly and helpful staff (some of them).
    5- Expensive food.
6- Nice beach but dirty in some areas.
7- Electricity from 4 pm to late night.
8- Plugs only in the common area.
    9- Castaway experience.

Suns of Beaches is the Gem of Koh Rong. This place is by far the friendliest and coolest beach on the Island. This is the backpackers ultimate experience. If your looking to save money and get the 'Real' beach life experience then Suns of Beaches is worth going that extra mile. It's a perfect paradise hideaway. If your looking for silk sheets, hairdriers and 24 wifi, then this is not the place for you, but if your looking for powder white Beaches and want some fun with real travelers, then you have found home. There's no Beach Sanitation problem here, unlike main beach. The team are very helpful and friendly. You'll feel part of the family as soon as you arrive. Defo the best bar seating area to sit back and watch the world go by. Back again next year for sure. Check this place out, you'll stay for longer than you planned!.

5 reasons why NOT TO GO to Suns of Beaches:

1- The beach is dirty and I mean really dirty. It's covered in rubbish, I've seen used syringes, countless plastic bottles, nappies, etc. Why doesn't the staff stop being lazy and maybe do what people at the other beaches do and every morning just collect the rubbish?

2 - The premises are dirty and look abandoned. There's all sort of things lying around, used flip flops, old clothes, old construction materials, broken bricks, burned rubbish, empty cans of beer, cats and dogs pee and poo everywhere, etc.

3 - Staff are unfriendly and they only hang out amongst themselves (western staff). All they do is smoke and drink all day, every day, when they should actually manage the place.

4 - Bed bugs, bed bugs everywhere, several people got them, and several others got food poisoning. Also, huge ghekos in the rooms (they will poo on top of your things), rats (huge ones), spiders and bees!

5 - No Wi-Fi, dirty toilets ridden with bugs, no electricity, cold water, EXPENSIVE MEALS!

Stay instead at the next beach or at amazing coconut beach or even just go to koh rong sanloem. TIP: The main pier is as bad as this place maybe worse, if you can avoid it as well.

This place was amazing value for money! Had it's own beach all to it's its self hour walk from the main party beach or you can get a boat from bongs 3 times a day, the bar is really chilling plenty of Hammocks around the place , they got books if you're into reading , a 1 or 3 games could do with more board games , this is a great place to see the luminous plankton at night. The staff were brilliant really friendly, food was just amazing especially the chicken breast and creamy mushroom sauce booooom! Rooms are great only problem I had was a bad back from my mattress being to thin I should have doubled it up but other than that perfect place to get away from the world!

Stayed here and loved it! The beach is secluded and absolutely beautiful. They provide a taxi boat service for 3$ and can take you to most place on the island. There is no Wi-Fi which is good and bad for some people. For me it was nice to unplug. If you absolutely need it you can walk down the beach to another establishment 1.5km away. For food you only choice is their kitchen because the main beach is very far away. It is reasonably priced and offer some good dishes. The staff is friendly and pretty much hang out in the common area. We were there for the full moon and they even had a boat to the beach and back which was so nice to have at the end of the night! Go stay here you'll meet awesome travelers and have fun playing board games and cards instead of everyone on their phones like most common rooms
