Worth a quick jaunt but not much more.ask your tuk tuk, taxi driver to bring you around the corner to a cheaper pepper farm for purchase after tour and and a quick bite from Sophie's.
Pepper farm. You can buy all kinds of pepper or eat something. I recommend Kampot Crab with fresh green pepper. It was delicious. Better taste then pepper in another restaurant. More fresh. The guide show you whole process about pepper. You understand why is Kampot Pepper good quality. How many work must Khmer people do for it.
Small pepper farm with everything visible on the same spot. Good explanations in French, German and English. Good restaurant with an original pepper tea
Small, familiy run business, produces variety of organic peppers. They offer free tours of the site in various languages. People three are very friendly and the restaurant is simple but cozy. Souvenirs have a higher price level.
This place is amazing. Well worth a visit. No hard sell to buy good. You don't have to pay for the tour.
It is 30 minutes long very interesting. Even our 9 and 10 year old liked it.
They will guide you around the farm and tell you about every single step in pepper production. It's really interesting. You should buy some of those or, at least, try it. It's the best pepper in the world ;)
Really interesting and insightful tour. Pepper slightly more expensive here than elsewhere, but it pays for the tour (which is free) and a great enterprise.
We read on trip advisor that this farm is must go. But our trip it was disaster. We came there, we saw one group which had a guide. But staff told us to wait 45 minutes for the next group, we ask if we can join previous but they told no. Also told that they almost finished, as we realized later they just started.
We were waiting 45 min, in the meantime we wanted to order sth in restaurant but no one was there or they just ignored us.
After 45 minutes they told to wait 10 minutes more, then 5 minutes more and then 20 minutes more. In that moment we decided that we are done. We just went back to the city.
They are nice to you only if you spent a lot of money there.
I regret we choose this farm.
they arrange 1 hour free English tour , they will show you the whole process of organic pepper farming, and you can taste all kinds of peppers, of course you can buy some organic pepper there.
Don't forget the restaurant , the food is cheap and tasty!
A volunteer gave us some background info and then took us on an informative tour around the pepper plantations. We got to see the pepper growing, drying, being sorted and then packed. They have a restaurant but we didn't eat. There is also a shop selling the pepper and jams and teas.
Great tour, we learnt all about pepper and had a full farm tour for free! Of course the idea is to sell you something at the end, but we felt no pressure to. It was a really interesting experience seeing how pepper is grown and sorted. Pepper snobs now!
The most popular pepper farm in Kampot. You can buy three 3 kinds of pepper here such black, white and red pepper.
The Best Kampot Pepper farm in Kampot. They has restaurant to serve food during your visit. Yo can buy pepper there too.
We arrived by motorbike from Kep pretty easily, just taking a left on highway 33 (there are many signs from plantations including Sothys)
The tour was given by a local, Kim; his English was great, his knowledge also and he is super friendly. All questions were replied, and the visit was very interesting.
They are not at all pushy sellers so just buy if you like. It's delicious so you won't regret it
Cool and interesting place. Really worth a visit to learn about the pepper in our meal :)
Nice staff, cool environment and a good place to enjoy some shakes while learning about Kampot pepper. It was a must as we have previously seen the salt fields of Kampot.
100% recommended, especialy if you are a food enthusiast.
Volunteers give tours in english and French. The owners seem to speak French and English as well. Also they seem to really care about quality, which is great. Prices seem expensive but when you think that they produce 400 to up to 800Kg/year, that's probably just bringing enough to help them run. Good job guys!
The guides give a very detailed introduction to the history of pepper in the region to the technology used to maintain and harvest pepper at optimum quality. Very cool to see how it is integrated into the local society so well.
It's worth to visit because Cambodian pepper is one of the finest quality in the world.
It's a great opportunity to get a general knowledge about pepper plantation.
Friendly people here and well-organized place.
