FIRST REVIEW WRITTEN IN JANUARY 2019
Both of my children are part of the pioneering Aug 2018 intake at SCIA. Generally speaking, my wife and I are quite satisfied with SCIA based on our children''s experience during this past term.
The academic and admin staff have been quite responsive in addressing any shortcoming or issue that has arisen. In the preschool, the staff have been particularly attentive.
In the primary school, our daughter seems to enjoy going to SCIA and watching her academic and personal progress has been satisfying for both my wife and me. In particular, we are impressed by the fact that SCIA is seriously committed to the holistic development of the students. In that regard, they walk the talk.
In helping our daughter in her studies, I had the opportunity to read her textbooks and activity books which follow the Singapore curriculum in English, Maths and Science. I was agreeably surprised to come across the argument/mind mapping approach used in the Science books. This is the same technique I introduce to my students as a professor and which is taught by the best law schools in Australia. In Maths, I am also impressed by the variety of problem-solving exercises.
The signature programme in Entrepreneurship which is introduced as early as in Grade 1 provides further opportunities to students to develop their soft skills while broadening their vocabulary and knowledge outside of the classroom.
Another unique feature of SCIA Primary School is that subjects are taught by specialist teachers e.g a Maths teacher to teach Maths, an English teacher to teach English etc. as is normally the case in high schools.response / report this review -

Singapore education which believe in hokistic approach. Kids will learn both East and west culture at the same time.
