Silk Island is located approximately 10 kms from the heart of the city. The island has silk weaving community who do sericulture, extract silk from the worm. There exists cafeteria and lounge to order and have food at traditional silk community house. The island can be reached via ferry from the pick up point. Charges being 500 Cambodian Riels for one way.
If you're from India, then this place may not be of great interest given the extensive silk clothing and industry.response / report this review -

Nice quiet place near from Phnom Penh. You pay only 1 USD and English speaking guide show you whole process about silk. You can buy very nice silk scarf from 10 to 40USD.

A mini silk museum located on the island. Coupled with a mini theme park with riverside food stall. If you got a lot of spare change, go ahead with and visit this place. But go with a legit tour company, don't ask a random tuk tuk driver to take you there to avoid getting ripped off.

A very well organised tour. I saw the cultivation and total process of making a silk scarf. Very informative. And got to see the village on the island and interact with the community. I bought 3 silk scarves of different thickness and colours and pattern. They were very well priced. Highly recommend it. If you want a silk scarf for a souvenir or gift, this is the place to go. Men and ladies styles available.

This is a tourist attraction and I see why, very interesting indeed. We had friendly and knowledgeable guide. We bought lovely silk table cloth.

Typically tourist destination. Avoid to buy overpriced "cheap" scarfs and other goods in shop. There is few local made silk scarfs with price near $30. Only it is real good.

It cost $15 by boat and takes about 60 minutes to get there. Great place to visit and learn how the locals make silk. It is also one of the islands of the Grasshopper Bicycle tour package. You also learn about the local culture and family life on the island. There are stores to buy food and refreshments.

If you’ve got a bit of time to spare and looking to leave the noisy city behind then Silk Island is perfect match. Pretty much any tuk tuk driver knows their way across the river to the island where you will instantly find yourself glad you made the journey. The atmosphere is what you’d expect further out in the country side with roads that meander through the country side and almost no traffic. The silk museum is also quite special as it gives you an idea of what was possible back in the old days.

Good views and fresh air. We can relax and reduce stressed in weekend or holiday. Also good for team building or small picnic with family, friend or couples

Really interesting tour by a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Amazing to see the silk making process close up at first hand. Amazing to see the skill of the people working the looms too. Well worth taking the tour.

These island is best for cycling or walking tour. Mostly, it is good destination for photography tour, if you want to capture a real pictures of the real life of Cambodia people, real culture and beautiful countryside as well as the silk weaving as a part of Khmer traditional handicrafts. Let go there to see everything as a countryside and farmlands , to get there just about 18 km North of Phnom Penh city.

Worth a visit to see the silk looms in action. Local people were friendly. There is a popular waterside eating place with literally 100 shelters to sit in over the water while you get food. Make sure you ask the price first. I had to pay$17 for a BBQ chicken and a small serve of morning glory. Great to see the village life.

These island is best for cycling or walking tour. Silk Island was a nice and educative experience. You can learn a lot about silk production on the island. Tip: Buy silk scarves as they are beautiful and sold at cheap prices plus you support the local community.
