Beautiful and quiet place

Really nice and helpful owner and family, I was in a big comfortable room with a view to the nature and you could also see the sunset from the balcony
Downside is that when I stayed they were working and building and it was really noisy..

Horrible place. The Boss is a tricky person, lÃes continuosly, historia tuctuc tour is very expensive, do not book with him any ticket o tour. The place is dirty, the beds are horrible, the room is dark and specially the tener is not honest

We booked for a bungalow, but when we arrived the 2 bungalows were occupied. So we slept in a big room but windows right on the restaurant so noisy and dark.
20 minutes after our arrival, a couple arrived at the hotel, they had reservation but the hotel was full so they were sent somewhere else It could have been us ! They just overbooked.
A single day of trek is 45$ per person (!) and the guide was nice but the trek not so great.
A guy from the staff was nice enough to drive us to a scooter rental but the scooter was the worst we had by far in South East Asia.
After 2 nights, a bungalow was free for us. It was really nice, with a great view. But the shower did not work, and we were coming back from the trek We just had a tap to shower and the owner told us just before we entered.
On the top of that, when we checked out, he tried to make us pay the first room the same price as the bungalow !!!
Food was good and cooked by a nice lady, but too expensive.
It's a shame that such a nice place is run by a dishonest owner.response / report this review -

I had a really bad experience at this guesthouse, and was ripped off by the owner, and although I'm uncomfortable with being too critical about cheap accommodation like this, I ought to explain why my experience was bad so others can avoid this place in future. In two and a half months travelling in Asia, the gentleman who owned this place was the pettiest person I met.
I arrived in Ban Lung with my girlfriend with no place booked to stay that evening. Immediately the owner of Nature House pulled up on a scooter and began selling his place to us. It sounded cheap, quiet and close to the town.
In the end it was none of these things.
We arrived at Nature House and got a room. It wasn't one of the bungalows but it was still alright for $6. The only deficiency was a mosquito net that was too small for two people to sleep under.
Anyway, we soon realised that the nature house was pretty far away from the amenities of town. The owner, pushy since the start of our interactions, began trying to sell us food and tours. Both seemed wildly overpriced ($3 for fried rice!?). We said we were ok for both and he looked grumpy. Fair enough.
As the sun began its slow and spectacular setting, we watched from the balcony of the guesthouse - until other guests asked us to leave. The owner had invited two groups of people to sit up there even though there was only space for one.
We decided to sleep - except we couldn't because the next door neighbours were having a party. The music went on until 2am and began again at 6am. At around 12 I went out to see if I could walk over to the party - I wasn't going to sleep and I fancied a beer and a conversation with the locals - but the owner had locked the gate and there was no way of joining it. In the morning we asked the owner what the noise was. 'Wedding', he said, 'very funny.' Well, maybe. But after promising us the peace and quiet of nature, and failing to warn us that Cambodians largest sound system was housed next door, it didn't seem so funny.
All this would have been fine. I wouldn't have normally minded any of it. We decided not to stay another night or do a tour. We wanted to head on to Mondulkiri, and asked the owner if we could book a bus for us. After a lengthy protest about us leaving and not doing a tour (he seemed critically maimed by our decision not to give him money), he said the bus would be $12 for each of us.
'That seems expensive' I said.
'No. Not many buses go that route. It's twelve dollars.'
After a night of non stop cambodian music which left us with four hours sleep, the idea of walking 1.5km to the nearest bus stop in town to find another bus for slightly less money seemed like a bleak prospect. We handed over the money and got on the bus (incidentally this mini van was cramped and crazy and uncomfortable even by Cambodian standards).
We reached Mondulkiri, asked around other bus companies and guesthouse owners and found that the journey should never cost more than $7. The proprietor of Nature House had charged us extra because we didn't stay two nights at his unbearably loud place, or do one of his expensive tours. He scammed us, no two ways about it.
If you've made it this far, I'm happy to acknowledge that a majority of reviews like this place - fine. But if you want to avoid pushy, greedy and oddly petty guesthouse owners do not come to the Nature House.response / report this review -

Jolie vue, endroit calme et relaxant. Peu de choix au menu et pas de déjeuners inclus, mais les prix sont très raisonnables.
