We ate dinner here one night and did the cooking class a couple of days later with our teacher Toot. Dinner was beef lok lak and very tasty, hence committing to the cooking class. It's great value at $10 for four meals and a market tour. Only downside was that it felt pretty rushed and that compared with other cooking classes it felt like you did way less. I think this suited the other class members who weren't as confident as us. The fish amok we made was beautiful - worth it for this dish and recommend you do it!

I've been in this restaurant twice. The fish amok (3.75$) was as delicious as the chicken eggplants (on request) (3.75$). Also fresh spring roll very good.
    The owner, she is lovely.
Unfortunately not enough time for taking the cooking class (10$/person)

Good cooking experience. You do a lot in 3 hours. We don't learn much at the market though. We had a lot of food for lunch. Good value for money.

Really funny kitchen course. Would have liked to be able to choose the menu myself like I was used to in Thailand. But it was a real great course and had a good time there.

After reading the amazing reviews on here, we dropped in tonight to have a look at the menu and possibly enquiry about a cooking class. As we walked in, we picked up what looked like a menu on a table, to have it quickly snatched away from us by the grumpy man who stormed up to us, told us “full now, no space”, then turned his back and sat down on a table. No “hello”, no “would you like to see the menu”, no “I’m very sorry we are full tonight, but you’re welcome to come back tomorrow”.

It was a perfect lesson in how to lose trade and make potential customers feel unwanted.
We are in Battambang for a few days, and he’s successfully lost our custom.

Hopefully there’s a good reason he was in such a foul mood, and that the next people that walk through the door don’t experience the wrath of him. Maybe he lost a big bet on the rain.

Went to the dinner cooking class (3:30-6:30pm). Really good experience, the staff were entertaining, passionate about food and spoke really good English (and French for that matter). Received a cookbook and I'm excited to try the recipes back at home. 😊

Quite disappointed by the meal I had, I expected much more from such a well reviewed place. I took the eggplant with pork but pork tasted really bad I couldn’t eat more than 3 spoons of it. Maybe I chose the wrong meal at the wrong time but definitely a no for me.

Going to the local marketplace was interesting and cooking was fun if you can laugh at the ridiculousness of the instructions. Food is good too. Good fun for children too.

What a great way of spending a few hours learning something new! You start with a walk to the wet market; while you might have been wandering around markets before, it's nice to have someone pointing out some of the details you might have missed, like the different cuts of meat or weird veggies.
Back at the kitchen, all steps are given you in detail and you do get to do 90% of the work yourself, which is a great experience.
You'll prepare and cook four dishes over about three hours and then you'll get to eat them and you'll be amazed how good they taste!
This was my first ever cooking class and I enjoyed it immensely.
The 10$ price is more than reasonable, since you'd probably pay more to get the se dishes at a restaurant.
    Highly recommended!!

Amazing little restaurant which also offers cooking classes for 10$. Try the fish amok, the best I’ve had in Cambodia. Everything is made fresh to order.

This was a brilliant cooking class. We were all involved in cooking all 4 of the dishes. Nary and Toot were well organized and explained excellently. We had such a fun morning starting in the market and ending up eating what we had cooked. We learnt alot and loved the food. I would really recommend this.

Took a cooking class here just for fun. It was very interesting and i learn a lot actually. You start of by going to the market for ingredients. Then you go back to the kitchen and the owner and chef, Toot, will teach you how to cook Khmer style. We did 4 different dishes, fried spring rolls, beef loc lac, fish amok and banana cooked in coconut.

Lovely service. Prices of food are slightly highly than local shops at us$3.75 for most dishes but you get what you paid for. Cosy atmosphere and the owner greets you and serves you with great pleasure.

Incredible food and a great atmosphere, but it's the people that make it extraordinary. Each time I come here I'm treated with a genuine warmth from nary, her husband, and the staff. Wish I could rate this higher.

This place is the most famous cooking class in battambang. chef can speak good English and French but all the cooking involves meat so not a good place for veggies.

The best of the two cooking courses I did in Cambodia at half the price. Toot and Nary are lovely people. Avoid imitators and stick with the original and best. The food we made under their instruction was among the best we had which speaks for itself.
