I want to know the rules covering a foreigner getting a work permit if he does not work for anyone,(HE HAS NO EMPLOYER) in Cambodia, but has a business and tourism license from the Ministry of commerce.and runs and owns his own business in Cambodia?ie: A Guesthouse, Restaurant, Bar,or Hotel etc for example?
The Ministry of Labor Relations Police in Kampot, say that everybody must have a work permit, even if they are not working for anyone and living off their own income from abroad?
This I believe is a corruption of the rules by these Policemen, governing the work permit rules and regulations, recently announced by the Ministry. They are also intimidating foreigners and forcing them to pay for arrears where the person concerned has not been working in Cambodia, but living here on a business Work Visa, looking to invest in a business while staying here in Cambodia? Thank you Peter David Legal Advocate.Australian Citizen. Living in Kampot Cambodia.
