We were a little unsure about this choice since the reviews were very different from one another, although we decided to give it a choice. We stayed in a straw bungalow, which were a little cheaper than the luxury ones with real walls. The room has all the basic needs, the bed was comfortable and we had AC too. The only negative thing was that we could clearly hear the neighbors in the next room, just as if we were in the same room. Luckily they weren't that noisy and we could sleep without problems.
Continental breakfast was included, about 7 min walk from the hotel. We could also benefit from their private sunbeds. The hotel management was kind and polite, which I was glad to see, especially after the bad reviews I read!response / report this review -

It's beatiful place, I Can hear a sea when I go to sleep from my bungalow, a guys from footprint playing a music laud but I like almost all, so for me it dosn't matter. And a great breakfast at the hotel.

I can not tell about all hotel i will speak only about my bungalow No.6. it was really dark in the room all the time. only 1 bulb working, and a really small window overlooking the wall of the neighboring bungalow.
also there is a problem with humidity, wall are destroyed with wet( i attach the picture)
the smell from the toilet is disgusting, only when the door is closed it's bearable.
There is no noise insulation and music from nearest bar always disturbing you till the midnight.
there are only 2 pluses: good breakfasts on the beach and very friendly personnel!response / report this review -

Bad ventillated, small, wet, not demanding houses. The majority of the houses are circle, these are not lucky. Pool is located in the courtyard.

Mary Beach Bungalows.stay somewhere else if you have any other option, even if it’s double the price! At check-in we met the meagre staff, and every single staff member made us question why they were working in customer service when they so clearly hated or didn’t care about other people. The “welcome drink” was a tiny glass only filled halfway, and the path to the bungalows was only half made, which lead to me nearly breaking a toe. The bungalows themselves left much to be desired - stairs up were unstable, thin and old; the room was perpetually sandy, including in the sheets; the mosquito net didn’t cover the bed properly; there was no natural light and it was very dark and unpleasant inside even with the artificial lights on; the floor was slanted, water damaged, peeling, and dirty; the bathroom was mouldy, damp, damaged and also dirty, the “drain” an exposed pipe, and the shower unusable, tucked behind the door and aimed at the sink; the tiny balcony had old, breaking down furniture, and was covered in dirt and sand. Also, the sheets and towels were stained and old. Some small positives were the little pool, which was clean and relatively pleasant, and the aircon in the room worked well enough, although it did keep turning on and off loudly, waking us up continually throughout the night. In addition, the bungalow did not block any sound out, so be prepared to be woken up early by construction onsite. Speaking of which, the construction site is directly above some of the bungalows and while we were staying there sparks or a cigarette fell from above and one of the bungalows near ours caught on firethe staff responded slowly and if it weren’t for some of the male guests getting together and forming a bucket line from the pool, I think the fire would have spread to the adjacent bungalows very quickly. Aside from two staff members helping the male guests, the rest stood around watching, and the police and fire truck did not arrive for over half an hour, by which time the guests had managed to put the fire out. The beachfront for the bungalows is deserted, breaking down, filthy and unattended. To have breakfast we had to walk down the road to the Mary Beach Resort beachfront, where there wasn’t enough tables, cutlery, plates, cups, food or drinks for guests at any given time. When guests arrived they were completely ignored and had to wait for a table to clear or find a table and then sort out having it cleaned. The food was average, and the service, once again, terrible - guests were either avoided, or if they asked a question, stared and grunted at. One evening when we went out, we tried asking the night manager about catching a tuk tuk - it became clear he was working with the local drivers to rip off guests, and he was very rude and sleazy towards us. You couldn’t pay me to stay here again.
The beach is idyllic though, so if you’re looking to stay in the area, maybe try Secret Garden at Otres 2, or Sahaa Beach Resort down at Otres 1.response / report this review -

We wanted a place to just relax for a couple of days, away from the crowds of Sihanoukville. Just fine if you need to relax for a few days. you need to get a tuk tuk from city center to get there. Once there you have the sea on front door. We stayed on the first bungalows, nice for couples, with tv and ac, Nice breakfast, wifi signal on room was inconsistent but good in other areas. Not to many eating options nearby.

Bungalow? More like bunghole. Does not meet expectations at all. The bungalows are not on the beach. The beach could only be seen from the restaurant/bar and the lounge chairs for the swimmers. There were no coffee/tea pot or desk in the room although it is stated that there would be both. THE TOILET WAS BROKEN THE ENTIRE TIME. IT WOULD NOT FLUSH. THEY WOULD NOT FIX THE TOILET. They would not give us hand soap despite requesting it multiple times and even a person come into the room to actually check if we had any before they would agree to give us hand soap. Never got it, apparently we were not to be trusted with hand soap.
It was a bunch of little things here, a lack of attention to detail, that made this a crappy place stay. All of the oddities listed above as well as the safe not even being attached to anything and the fact that they list that there are a lot of activities to do but they only offer some of those if you take a day long boat trip, it is like this place gave up even trying to be decent.
If they were honest about what the rooms and facilities really have, look like, as well as just basic upkeep, this place would be acceptable because one would know what to expect. However, I will never stay here again on the principle of no one ever bothered to even pretend to fix the toilet. All in all, this place is a huge disappointment near a beautiful beach.response / report this review -

Noisy. Right next to a loud bar. Won't recommend if looking somewhere peaceful. Staff wasn't sympathizing much. Room looked weary, shower looks unplesant. Beach side looks messy. Disappointed, glad I stay only for a night

Stayed 5 nights. Were some issues with my Superior Bungalow on the first night, which night staff not very helpful with, but day staff were great and really help to sort things out. Gardens very nice. Breakfast was fine, enough options etc. Easy access to beach and other food/coffee options. Only big problem was booking boat trip to bamboo island through hotel, we booked 6hr boat trio but returned after 4hrs due to communication problem between hotel & boat company (Lina boat 2) not refund offered by company and hotel staff did not really push to get refund. Recommend avoid that boat company.

Went for evening drinks. Place looked great and very nice ambiance, with lights and beach side bar. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met at all:
- the waiter seemed completely lost in their own menu and we had to repeat our order several times
- we had to wait for over 30 minutes to get our drinks, and were not the only ones
- the cocktail drinks themselves were watery and not great
Overall, frustrating and very unsatisfying. Wouldn't recommend it at all.response / report this review
