Koh Rong Cambodia Island Khmer: also romanized as Kaôh Rōng or Kos Rong), is the second largest island of Cambodia. Located in Koh Kong Province about 25 kilometers off the Sihanoukville’s coast in the Gulf of Thailand, the island has an area of approximately 78 km2 and 43 km of beaches. Currently, there are four small villages and also home to more than a dozen guesthouses and bungalows, many of them foreign-owned.Koh Rong has had a land concession granted by the Cambodian government. The Royal Group has been granted a 99-year lease and has plans to build “Asia’s first environmentally planned resort island”. The Survivor season 31 and 32 of the American reality game was filmed in Koh Rong as also years ago the French “Survivor” television program Koh Lanta.
When you’ll wake up in the morning you’ll feel to live in paradise, with white sand, long beach, many fishes and coral, and all inside the island, the real jungle!!!In the island there isn’t electricity, but only current generator that give current more and less from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

There are no roads, but only beaten tracks, you can walk into the amazing jungle or reach the beach you prefer, so only by foot or by boat!!!

There is much to say about this gem of an idilic island. In few words, the journey to get here is absolutely worth it, but do your homework. Read many reviews from many different sources, not just from Trip Advisor or Google.

As with any remote place, you should do your research carefully, read reviews from many sources and practice the adage: an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. Translation: be careful and take reasonable precautions.

I make sure that I have my booster shots for Hep A, B & Typhoid vaccinations, and I applying sunblock & DEET liberally. I do not walk barefoot on the beaches and I do not swim near any developed areas especially by any piers like the main ones in the villages. I will leave it to you to inform yourselves about the, ahem, pollution/water quality and how waste water is/isn't treated here.

There are many options for party animals but if you are looking for a cheaper option with beautiful peaceful resort..then you must go to nature beach!! Resort is runned by very relaxed chinese guy..I was staying in a shared guesthouse and then swaped for a tent for 5 dollar per night only! Didnt want to leave..great affordable food, good spot for diving.you can rent kayak and snorkelling set over there. Its a small paradise not only for big fishes ;) I stayed 1 night also in a hippie style sun of the beach resort..bungalow was charming but there was something missing there

Such a beautiful island, beautiful and really cheap. Full of young people , enjoying taking sun during the day and parties on the beach at night! Ienjoyed a lot but there are two problems: there aren't ATM machines on the island and many places, restaurant, bar, resort and hotels don't accept payment by card, so you must have cash. Second problem, there's only one pharmacy, where the sevice is truly bad.

Amazing island the best beach you will see in your life the water is warm never too deep and so clean it's like glass the white sand is so soft you can hear a squishy sound as you walk on it

Super Island. 4k beach is an outstanding natural beauty. One of the problems is plastic sometimes coming from the sea.

Koh rong is fantastic, touristy areas but mamy areas where there is no western influence. Just bought by a large group in china and is going to be all destroyed and rebuilt with airports and casinos, so get there soon!!!!

Don't go to Sihanoukville if you want to enjoy the sea in Cambodia. Just go straight to the islands around. It will develop and be a place of mass tourism in a few years, but it's still awesome and not very crowded.

Absolutely fantastic tropical island - crystal clear ocean waters, soft white sands, wonderful exotic jungle. The main tourist area (Koh Touch) has a lot of bungalows, guesthouses and bars, and is known for a bit of a party atmosphere. If that's not your scene however there are MANY amazing places not only on Koh Touch but scattered around the island. Both Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloem are a must if you're travelling around Cambodia or South East Asia!

Clear water, crystal white sand and windy breezes are perfect for a beach vacation. Very calm and chill. It only takes a 30 min boat ride to get to paradise. Take your vacation to another level.
