Vegetarian/vegan food was great. 3 or 4 starter options (one was mushroom and aubergine bao which was a big portion - pictured) and 2 mains. We opted for a selection of starters and one main to share, and all of it was really tasty and good portion sizes! Had one cocktail and it was strong! Didn’t try deserts.
Great meal and supporting a good cause, highly recommended!

Delicious food and I love the fact this is a social enterprise. It supports orphans and children to stop trafficking. The cocktails are very good and the corn fritters are amazing. The beef dish literally falls off the bone and is one of the best anywhere. I'd happily go back anytime. The crowd always seems to be full of westerners also a local fave for them.

Best restaurant in Battambang. Delightful staff and impeccable food. The fritters are a must and every large plate is incredible. Do not skip dessert. Thank you, Jaan Bai for a lovely experience!

SUPER friendly staff! Such delicious food, vegan and gluten free options also. You will pay a little bit more but should try at least once.

The food was just Ok. We can't say it was amazing as other reviews stated. We had the chicken with banana flower - really disappointing, it was just pure boiled chicken, no spices, sauce on the side and steamed banana flower. They could have glazed it in a saucepan with a bit of the sauce at least.
The pad Thai with shrimp and tofu was delicious, interesting flavours.
Chocolate cake was very good, the coconut cake though was not - very dry, but it looked nice in the plate!
Wine by the glass - no good.
Overall too expensive for the quality of the food.
Waiter was a bit off, which was fine, I mean we all have bad days.

Higher end quality food and prices for the area, though quite delicious. My wife and I ordered 3 small plates to share with a side of rice each. It was reasonably filling. Decent place for drinks too. Only place so far that we've found hard apple cider. Air conditioning.

Outstanding food and service. Corn fritters were particularly amazing. Really, really enjoyed the food here. Would definitely recommend in Battambang. Wasn't particularly cheap but still excellent.

Unfortunately on the day and because we are rather late, there was no dessert available at all. The dessert looked spectacular so that was disappointing.

Best place we ate in Battambang. The staff are lovely and the food was delicious. We had a number of little plates, mushroom dumplings were excellent as was the chicken satay.
It's also great that this restaurant is helping the youth of Cambodia to gain skills in the restaurant industry.

    From their website
Jaan Bai, meaning “rice bowl” in Khmer, is a social enterprise restaurant initiative of CCT and the Feel Good Coffee Group. It provides skills development and employment for Cambodian youth

Jaan Bai was a great find. My wife and I shared three dishes. We had the cucumber salad which was very good, the corn fritters which were amazing, and the chicken satay was also worth it. The staff were very friendly coming over and asking how our meal was. The atmosphere was very nice and the restaurant itself was clean as could be. The cause for the restaurant makes everything even better knowing that you are supporting these people learn skills and get off of the streets.

Pretty good food a little in the mid range price for Cambodia. Very busy and very in. Hip and young, the cocktails looked good. Large group the night I was there so a bit loud.

Maybe the only Ac restaurant in town. Excellent young attractive and mostly male staff with personal approach. Mostly visited by tourists and expats. Very good food and drinks. Top place.

The food at Jaan Bai is amazing. their slow cooked beef is the best I have ever tasted and the pad thai rivals some of the best in Bangkok. Make sure if you are travelling through Battambang, you stop for a meal here, you will not regret it!

More modern restaurant with very good food and friendly, English speaking staff.
I can highly recommend a refreshing, fresh coconut and the Pad Thai or the Chicken Satay.

It's more expensive compare to other restaurants but don't really find any unique of the food. The staff keep talking on volume a bit spoil of the environment. Not really a must visit.

At the price point I can't say it was worth the hype, though the food was good and enjoyable not deep fried.

A beautifully chosen menu with lots of choices for my vegetarian companion. The food was well presented and tasted divine. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were tempted by dessert and so glad we were.
    I will be back.

Great food, with a slightly western touch. Really nice atmosphere and design. Slightly on the expensive side though.
