My last trip with GI was Sunday morning 8am, I made a reservation at my guesthouse the day before Phnom Penh to Kampot. There would be a pick up service that didn't show up so I took a taxi to the bus stop. Once there, the bus arrives and I got on board after asked if this bus was going to Kampot, the answer was positive. There was some confusion about seat numbers, double booked it seemed. The communication with the driver and the deskmanger was in poor English and not clear, we drove off and stopped around the at a dispatch station where the confusion got even more, the bus we were sitting in was going to Kep and later to Kampot what ruffly one hour longer takes.
In the end the bus stopped first at Kampot nobody at giant Ibis could tell us about.

I drive round way pp and Kep. The driver is drive very fast don’t think about passengers that sitting at the backseat. I and my friends had pain body . The car is inside is old and AC is not cool .

Arrived at 8:30 for a bus that was supposed to leave at 8:45. Instead they waited for more passengers to arrive before leaving at 9:30. I would recommend taking a smaller van for your trips in Cambodia if you want to arrive on time.

Had a very good trip from Siem Riep to Sihanoukville via transfer in PP.
The journey is quite a big long though. We had good WiFi and A/C + one bottle of water.
It's a bit more expensive than other companies but the service is higher too !
Recommended.

First ride was ok, Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, except the lunch break at a really really bad restaurant which I can't remember the name of.
The second ride started with cockroaches running over our seats, hence the bus looked far more luxury than the one before.

I was pleased with Giant Ibis Bus service. It was my first time crossing Moc Bai-Bavet border, and we took a local bus HCMC-Moc Bai. After getting Cambodian visa, we had to head to Phnom Penh. We were lucky to catch Ibis bus. The driver and the conductor were very friendly. We even managed to negotiate the price and had a good deal(5$ Bavet-Phnom Penh) . The journey was comfortable, with air-conditioner and spacious seats. Even outlet for phone/laptop charging was available.

I had better memories of Giant Ibis We went from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh and return in the most uncomfortable hard seats and had a back ache for 3 days. Buses are recent but it is really hard to sit 6 hours on those chairs! The bus left Phnom Penh 30 minutes late with people waiting outside under the sun. We have beed told that the bus will stop 2 times but it stop 3 times and the last is really unnecessary (same in both ways).
The lunch break was in a restaurant who is catering for Giant Ibis (or belongs to Giant Ibis??), the name is Banyan tree restaurant and it is the worst food I have had for a long time. On our way back we knew it and had brought some food with me. Absolutely terrible and my Khmer wife couldn't agree more.
If you want to keep your reputation, you should work on this!

My boyfriend and I went from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. We left 15 minutes late due to hotel pick up van being a little late, as hotel pick ups always are.. There's space to put your back pack either by your feet or above you, and large suitcases go under the bus before you get on. We were given a little water bottle, a packaged wet hand towel, and a pastry (pain au chocolat or raisin scroll). We then stopped about an hour later for 15 minutes, at a beautiful place where you could purchase snacks, and there were about 15 toilets for the women (no tissue paper so bring some or buy it there). Roughly 2 hours later we stopped at the Banyan Tree Restaurant where we got noodles w. veggies & chicken fried rice for $5 total. 2 other giant ibis buses also stopped there at the same time so definitely order quickly! At each stop everyone gets off the bus including the drivers and guide, so bring your valuables with you in a little bag because the company is not liable for any lost items / damage. The food was delicious, and the guide spoke really good English and helped everyone sort out tuktuks/transfers once in Siem reap. After the lunch stop, the guide told us we would be an hour early arriving into Siem reap so we could plan accordingly! The bus had curtains, AC, seat belts, and power points. Definitely recommend :)

I have mixed feelings about Giant Ibis. On the one hand the buses are clean, the staff are reasonably helpful and the extra services (wifi etc) are a nice touch. However the whole thing just seems so damn disorganised.

We took two trips recently, neither ideal. The first time they dropped us outside of Phnom Penh because of the water festival with no notice. Just stopped, dumped our bags out and left. The second, the shuttle didn't arrive to pick us up in the morning as arranged so we had to race across town to get the bus.

Overall it's fine, but if they sorted out the administrative side of things it could be so much better.

Even one star is still to much.
They rip tourists off.
The bus from Siem Reap was supposed to stop downtown of Phnom Penh. Instead of stopping there, it stopped outside of town (8km to downtown). So all passengers had to take a remork to town for around 10$.
Take care or just stay away!!!!

But the bus was on time and clean.

Bus generally was fine. Comfortable with wifi. But first bus broke down. Had to switch. Also a completely unnecessary two stop and buy some overpriced food stops in what should have been a 4 hour ride. Ridic.

We travelled from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh. Terrible customer service. They messed up our visa and didn't even apologise. They didn't try to help fix the problem. Just left us to deal with it at the Vietnamese border. Finally, they left us at the border with no help and wouldn't allow us to get on a later bus. I emailed and went to their office several times but they did nothing to help.

Giant Ibis is a VIP bus company that I had never be able to afford the service price until my return from an oversea study. Its facilities and other add-on services are good. However, how the staff (drivers mainly) communicate with customers is not even close to other regular bus companies with relatively cheap prices. I was travelling with this company from Phnom Penh to my hometown, Siem Reap province, on the 31th of July. I had two small bags with me. The drivers put my bags into the bus storage. Different from drivers of other companies, drivers of Giant Ibis did not take any chance to ask me where I would get off from the bus so that they could keep my bags in an appropriate place. Well, I would tell them if I could remember such detail. In the meantime, I paid for the service and it's there job to keep that in mind. Guess what happened when I told them I need to get off before reaching the town. They yelled at me in a way that you might not imargin, as if getting my bags out of the bus storage was the impossible task. I have to say it was my first time travelling with this company and it is also the last time!!! And I will make sure none of my friends will use this company service.

I enjoyed. Got us save to PP. I'm not on a time schedule at all and we were to arrive at about 12:30, we are in PP but have another 10 mins to the terminal. It's Sunday. Traffic. We will be 20 mins "late" so what. When you're driving this far what's 20 mins? The outlets on my bus didn't seem to work nor was there wifi. Meh. I had a power pack and a hotspot for Smart LTE. Didn't bother me. Maybe would bother others. If you know what to expect and are a reasonable human being this company and bus ride was just peachy fine. AC in the bus was great! I'm super heat sensitive and didn't break a sweat at all! Woot woot! Thumbs up!

On time with effective and efficient staff. Depots centrally located. WiFi works well at the front of the bus. Safety first with good drivers and seatbelts. Water and snack provided and a good standard of English spoken by the on board customer staff. Leather reclining seats with good legroom.

Company was one of the first, if not the first, bus/minibus company to offer excellent tourist-oriented service in Cambodia : for only a couple of $ more than local buses, you would get a comfortable and spacious environment, courteous service and went from point A to point B without stopping everywhere along the way as local buses tend to do.

The last three times I have taken it, service has been rude, I have noticed and felt that the fleet is getting old and is poorly maintained with issues such as strange engine noise and AC, and they have also picked up additional passengers along the way, using the crappy middle seats in the smaller buses, meaning not only that you lose time, but that a comfortable seat quickly becomes crowded and uncomfortable.

In other words, instead of continuing to soar after a brilliant start, the Giant Ibis is about to make a crash landing and it can only blame itself. I think it is currently surfing on its former glory days, but that won't last and, luckily, brand new and better alternatives are starting to appear.
