Mosquito and other insects are the main problems during stay. I decided to change hotel suddenly. It’s just a review for other tourists who like to book hotel via tour company, don’t trust the photo and tok tok so much. You will get in trouble like I did.

There were many mosquitoes. I and my kids couldn’t sleep well at night. The environment surround the guesthouse is really noisy and dirty. Smell bad from restaurant next to this guesthouse.

It was cheap, okay. 5 dollars cheap. Was only staying for the night, but the room I was provided had a stench that could procure a headache for the sensitive. Everything but the room was okay. Don't know why I took the room; it's the worse I've been in on my travels. The bed is clean and the floors are okay, too. Take a look underneath the mattress and you'll be frightened. The walls were plastered in fungi, the same walls I presume to produce the aforementioned stench. Mattress was among the worst.

Nice staff but regulated as a Sunday school with wise sayings everywhere and a smell of sewer in the room when the noisy Ac is off. Next door is the air conditioned restaurant Paris where everything is of a unreal astounding kitsch except the food which is as good as is the service.

Clean, spacious and reasonable rooms with a pretty garden setting. There is a restaurant but it only does breakfast. The staff were super friendly and spoke good English. They were helpful booking tuk-tuks and buses and providing maps and info on the area. They have bicycles and motorbikes for rent. If you let them know when you're arriving they will collect you at the bus stop in town.

Nice overall. But pricey, because there's no hot water in the shower and no mosquito nets (but very much mosquitos!)

You will not regret it. Nice basic room, clean. Nice people and great laid back ambient. Don't forget a little siesta on the hammocs at the end of the garden with squirrels and co passing by from time to time.
The breakfast was very good and you have a couple of restaurants nearby. I wish this kind of guesthouses were more common.
    Bikes available.

I'm giving Garden Guest House five stars because we had a great stay, but it's not the Ritz-Carlton. I can't imagine a better accommodation in this area. This is the Cambodian outback. The people working here are all super friendly. The older woman and one of the younger women speak good English. Good breakfast omelets.

The whole grounds are an extended garden, which is beautiful, but with gardens come bugs. The room we rented for four days was spotless clean when we checked in but eventually we had company in the form of a flying cockroach and a fairly large centipede. Didn't bother me but my wife would have preferred they didn't come to visit.

Power outages are common though most are fixed within seconds or minutes. One lasted a couple of hours.

We got lucky and stumbled upon the tuk tuk driver Vanny! He took good care of us for a fair price. We called upon him for three outings. You must go to the floating village. Vanny will introduce you to a Vietnamese small boat owner who can show you around. Careful because she gave us a price for a three hour boat ride that lasted barely over two hours. We stood our ground and she gave us some money back. It was the best thing we did while here.

I'd definitely stay at the Garden Guest House again. They helped us get bus tickets out to a small, less travel town. That would have been difficult to do on our own.

Side note: DO NOT GO TO PARIS RESTAURANT next door. The crazy woman running the place started yelling at us when we told her one of our beers was flat. She said it was our fault as we somehow broke the beer bottle then she yelled at us and started talking to all the other tables in French about us (the other diners were French speaking). I'm 49 years old from New York City and I've traveled to 48 countries, living in quite a few of them, and I've never had this happen to me. The food is mediocre and over priced. Vann Sokleap in the opposite direction is better food at a better price. Much nicer people as well.
