Historic place a lot happened and was written about here by reporters. Great atmosphere. Great views. Interesting drinks and bites. A bit pricey
This review is about the restaurant only, not the hotel.
The restaurant is beautifully located on a side-open first floor, accessible by climbing stairs. There is also a rooftop seating. Both floors have a great view on the river Tonle sap, just before it joins the Mekong river.
The building is of colonial style and gives a great atmosphere.
Staff is very friendly, the menu is quite interesting.
Food is of very good quality, the choice of wines is excellent.
A delight to have lunch here or sip a cocktail at sunset.
Not the cheapest place, but worth every penny.
Good place to hang out any time for a coffee or a meal, make sure to get a table at the balcony so you can watch the Tonle Sap River flow by. I have had some problems here over the years because I was alone and they did not want to give me a table at a prime location, even though the club was almost entirely empty. Every once in a while I come across this mentality in restaurants, but I either get to choose my own table, or I will take my business to the place next door. Just so there is no misunderstanding, this is not a Club, it is a restaurant (and hotel) that bought the name from the former real Cambodian Foreign Correspondents Club.
Nice view and history. Cocktails could be better. Nice pizza. There are better rooftops in the area.
NOT RECOMMENDED. Had been to FCC several times in the past and it was ok although a little overpriced. On this occasion went up to the top floor, the open air area, sat down and waited for service. Despite attracting the attention of staff no one even came to give me a menu so after waiting for 10 minutes with no service from the staff I left and went across the street upstairs to Panorama Restaurant where I received immediate and attentive service. At the time I was at FCC it was about 8pm on a Friday night and not particularly busy so there should have been no reason for lack of service.
Excellent Riverside Location. Great Views of River.excellent expats crowd. Good for networking and partys
We had dinner here twice during our week stay in Phnom Penh. We stayed elsewhere, this is for the restaurant only. The food and service were good. The view of the Tonle Sap River was quite nice. They had good vegetarian options for my wife, and they were kind enough to split the checks for the one evening we had 12+ people at dinner. I would return.
beautifull building slow service order only drinks take about 20 minute to arrived..super slow service but nice staff...
The bar has some great views of the river. The staff is friendly and the drinks are good. The food was a little expensive compared to other places, but worth it for the view and history.
Being "foreign" correspondent's club a basic understanding of English is expected .. but still the staff was very accommodating and tried to help us as best they could have
Most famous expat spot for tourists.. cool river view
The bar has a nice view of the Mekong and some great cocktail choices. The price tag is above average, but worth t for 1-2 drinks.
Great drinks and food. Good service
Cool restaurant with view of the river. Slow service and gets full quickly. Menu is overpriced but that is to be expected.
Apparently the FOREIGN CORRESPONDENTS CLUB was the chosen watering hole for journalists covering the Vietnam War and the activities of the Khmer Rouge in the lead up to the 1975 communist takeover. The only evidence of this these days is the historical black and white photos on the walls. The foreign correspondents are nowhere to be seen. Still, not a bad spot for a sun-downer or two over the Tonle Sap. The open walled area giving a view of the waterway creates a nice feel, sort of like half outdoors. Worth a look for a cold pint and a pizza.
Definitely touristy, the "war reporter" feel ends at the gift shop. Anyways, the space is very beautiful and comfortable with a nice colonial atmosphere. Food and drinks are good although a bit pricey, and the staff is friendly and competent.
Old charming bar and restaurant. Good local and international food with nice roof top open air sitting and mekong view. Friendly staff. Nice to go once and enjoy the view.
Brilliant atmosphere and very helpful staff. Taste food too!
It's one of those places you go to in order to be able to tell people you have been there if they ask. Nice to experience the history of the place but it didn't offer any reason to want to return.
I have learnt an interesting history about FCC. It has a great view to Mekong River in PP
They really put extra effort into doing it wrong. Doddering, jabbering staff are clueless. No idea what they are serving or why. They will get your order wrong and even bring the wrong drinks to boot.
Great taste of good plus coffee.
You can enjoy the view of riverbank
5pm-7pm draft beer and cocktail promotion.. buy 1 free 1
A lot of history here. Worth a look. Probably best to aim for Happy Hour
Great location. Good service.
It has a nice feel to it and is full of local history.
quite expensive, but it has an atmosphere. nice views of the Mekong. accept credit cards. happy hours.
Amazing history and the restaurant and bar feature many photos taken by the correspondents who stayed here.
Food is very well prepared, but a little pricey. Don't expect to get drunk on the cocktails...
