Damrey Sor Pagoda

  Went on a tour with the monks who are practicing to be tour guides, so I learned a lot about this pagoda. Damrey means elephant and Sor means white; the white elephant is supposed to be lucky.
  This place was built in 1904 and the temple was completed around 1908. By the second wife (and the favorite wife) of a king who had 20 wives. The wife's stupa supposedly grants wishes especially for those praying for healing.
  Inside the temple are paintings telling the story of the Buddha. Outside are the elephant statues of course. Everything here has its own story so it's too long to tell here, but you can ask the monks if you want the stories told to you.
