  Ausreise aus Thailand sehr freundlich. Einreise nach Kambodscha auch OK (man sollte hier nicht im Stress sein - es kann etwas dauern - zum Glück wenig Andrang). Bei der Rückkehr nach Thailand auch zügig ohne Probleme.

  For the bicycle tourist coming from Thailand to Cambodia: on the way there you pass an Army post on your left. You should have all your bottles filled at this point as there is not options for more for a while. The climb is brutal in the heat. There is a lookout point near the top that sells drinks, although they were out of water they did have M Sport.
  
  Check out of Thailand is simple. Check into Cambodia is simple. Just go to the trailers on the right hand side. I've always paid USD and have never been overcharged for a visa here. Note: you need a photo!
  
  After you finish the ride to Anlong Veng is pretty quick. I stayed on the hill this trip, and it was nice. The casino has an outdoor eating area with really good pasta, I was impressed.

  My partner and I had the best experience at this boarder crossing. We arrived with the plan to hitch hike our way to Sisaket city but were pleasantly surprised when the police officer offered to take us, personally, to the nearest town with an actual bus station. Of course we paid him for gas but the whole experience was "straight out of a book." Thank you for the gracious welcome into Thailand!

  I have been there three times now (living in Sisaket). All of the times we have traveled there on a Honda Wave with two people. It is some hills and quite a few holes in the road, but if you have some experience driving - no problem. Be sure to fill up your tank too, because the further you go, the fewer gas-stations. It is very easy to follow the signs there, but the distance written on signs is not accurate, but it is pretty much straight forward. Keep a careful eye in your mirrors since there are quite a few vans full with casino-tourists going that way, and they are sometimes in a rush. Close (4-5 km) to the border is also a immigration office called "Phu Sing Immigration Office", though it's far from the city center of Phu Sing. On the border there is a small Departure booth to exit Tailand, and then a no-mans-land around 50 meters, until you come to the Cambodian Arrival "hut". You will have to leave your vehicle in Thailand, and go by foot. The Officer on the Cambodian side will let you fill out some forms and it will cost you 1000 THB. You will get a visa-sticker and some stamps and then told to go see another officer who will take 300 THB for some more stamps. If you have a Thai-spouse with you, she/he should not have to fill out anything neither on the Thai-side or the Cambodian side, if it's only a short trip in and out (incl. some shopping) if the Thai-side do this, the Cambodian side will have to make a visa for her/him too, wich will double the expences. Clear this with the officers in charge in Thailand, and say its only an "hour-trip" you are going on. They know very well about it, and it is custom practice there. When papers are ready, you may go shopping. But remember to not buy any Thai-brand tax-free! It will be confiscated when you arrive, if they check. Example: Ciggarettes: Do not buy brands like Krong Thip or Wonder. Whiskey: Do not buy Hong Thong or something like that. If you are intersted they also sell cheap, Camagra there. But hide it, since they may not allow it. Also any "gold" or "silver" should only be bought with the understanding that it is only "plated" metal of some kind. Also you will see that the casino industry is blooming there now, as new buildings are rising there now. You will get a free ride from the border, the few minutes it takes to the casinos. I have no experience with this, but only noted this.
  The way back is pretty much the opposite of going in, but many things also depends on the kind of visa you have or not. Another good thing about this border-point is that you will not see any umbrella-kids or other beggars on your way. Never seen one there on my three trips so far.
