    It was a HOT day in Siem Reap, and cooking over open flame meant we were even hotter. The class was big - about 12 people. That meant that there wasn't as much of a hands on opportunity from the chef, but I still enjoyed it. We just walked through the market (not shopping there). We make spring rolls, amok fish, and a banana dessert. Unlike some cooking classes there were elements that were pre-cooked for us (the shrimp, the rice, noodles). If you want to really do EVERY element of the prep, this isn't the class for you, but you do get your hands dirty chopping, using the mortar and pestle and learning about the various ingredients. And you get a cookbook and some spices when you leave. I feel like I have a good sense of Khmer cuisine and spices. And the food tasted good.
