We did Captain Chim's sunset and firefly tour and it was amazing! The boat is certainly smaller and more rickety than the other upscale ones with lights washrooms and bars that you will see around but we're sure the experience was better. It costs $5 and we went much further up the river than the other big boats and our boat got right up to the trees with the fireflies where the other boats had to stay back a bit.

My girlfriend was even able to get one to land on her hand! Great experience and highly recommended!

Good location, but unfortunately the rooms weren´t exactly clean. There were hairs on the bed and ground and it smelled sweaty.
Place looks different from the pictures online, probably since its captain chim´s 2.
Cheap price and friendly staff, that doesn´t speak much english though.

Great hostel, very comfortable, good location, super clean, it has a good breakfast, and everything is cheap, 3 USD if you walk in instead of booking online. The best of all is the family running it, very nice, helpful and friendly.

It's a great place to stay in Kampot. It's clean and well organized. The mattress is very good. Stayed two nights in the dorm and moved into a double room and both were great.
Last but not least, it's owned by a very nice family. Very good people.
Would definitely stay here again.

This place had the potential to be really good, I had the a/c room at the top level, the room was large and had many windows with good views over the town of Kampot. It was the only room on the top level and had a balcony around room. The Tv was a decent size, and everything was quite clean.
But the smell in the bathroom was off the Richter scale, this smell was beyond any uncleaned, public toilet smell. I am quite certain it was the smell of something decomposing in the roof/ceiling of the bathroom. I have smelt this smell once before in a hostel a few weeks ago and it was the same smell. Most likely rats decomposing in there, you can hear them running around through the ceiling.well the lives ones at least. It is much more unbearable than a dirty toilet smell and really needs to be cleaned up.
Also the wi-fi does not work properly, between every 30secs to a min it would disconnect, then come back on again.
Also the water pressure in this room on the top level is close to non existent, the water tanks are on the same level outside the door to the room, whereas the water tanks should be on the roof.
The a/c is not all that strong in the room either, it will take up to an hour before being able to cool down.
It was a really great room that had the potential to be awesome, but just fell down in those few areas.
