We did Captain Chim's sunset and firefly tour and it was amazing! The boat is certainly smaller and more rickety than the other upscale ones with lights washrooms and bars that you will see around but we're sure the experience was better. It costs $5 and we went much further up the river than the other big boats and our boat got right up to the trees with the fireflies where the other boats had to stay back a bit.

My girlfriend was even able to get one to land on her hand! Great experience and highly recommended!

They were open and had an unoccupied room when we needed it, but otherwise there's nothing glamorous about captain chims. We slept in our clothes and didn't use the shower because we were grossed out (the bandaid in the drain was just the first reason). The aircon worked and there was a fan, and at 10 a night I didn't expect a lot, but just know what you're getting into

The food didn't come out like it said on the menu. They messed up the chicken fry rice order, brought beef instead, then took it back and just pick the beef out, refried again with chicken, afterwards bring it back to us, which was salty as hell.

Simply the best. During my two week stay in Cambodia, I went here for dinner pretty much every night, and let me tell you, it was an absolute pleasure walking through the front doors of that wonderful establishment to be greeted by the owner (Chim) and his enormous smile. The good vibes were infectious and that man just oozes friendliness. Chicken Amok is a famous local cuisine in Cambodia, and while I didn't have it anywhere else, I can confidently say that Chim serves up the most delicious bowl of Amok in the country. Washing it down with the ever refreshing passionfruit shake every night was just purely divine.

Man oh man, where do I start. I’ll start with a recommendation, the Chicken Amok here is a winner, and I highly advise washing that down with a cool, refreshing passionfruit shake. I could not dream of a better combo, honestly. To go with the great food, Chims has a lovely family atmosphere, of course with Chim at the helm leading the friendly, welcoming team of staff. Great place all round.

    Coffee with milk tastes fishy.
    Fuzzy and annoying owner.

This is delicious restaurant. You should order soup noodle beef if you like a hot bow for yourself or you can eat that with rice. Delicious
Especially for a person like hot dishes like me

I had food here and it was aweful. Instant noodle soup which they call Yellow Noodle. I can get that for .50$ from the supermarket. Fried noodles were ok but nothing special. You can get them cheaper and better in Kampot. The place across is already a better choice.

Tasty food for reasonable prices. Good for a snack. Had the beef steak and it was really tender and prepared to medium. Recommended.

Good local food, decent accommodation and book your sunset / firefly tour with them! These guys are very friendly and offer one of the best sunset cruises as they don't use one of the large loud music playing boats. Check it out! Note: you must go to Captain Chim building - you won't see them on the river if looking for a sunset cruise!

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the vegetable Khmer curry with tofu as the veg were almost raw and tofu had too much of a strong taste. Pineapple shake was too watery. However prices are cheap and staff is great. I might have more luck next time with other dishes.

Really good breakfast for little money. We tried the Khmer Veggie Curry and omelette with tomatoes and onions. Both came with baguette (you can also get the curry with rice), and were less than $2 each.
