Sitting in this restaurant brings me so much joy! A place with staff that truly understands what vegan means. The options are so abundant it was hard to choose. I went with the Badass Burger. The bun was soft, the hearty patty had a good consistency and the caramelized onions and chili cashew mayo added a sweetness that put it over the top. My kids had the Power Bowl and the Creamy Zucchini Pasta which were both polished off without a word. For drinks my daughter had the Naughty but Nice which didn't stand a chance and was gone before our waiter could come back for our meal order. My son, feeling under the weather, ordered the Cold & Flu Buster and the Master Tonic and is feeling better already. Oh, for dessert we ordered the Raw Chocolate & Salted Caramel Tart and the Raw Blueberry & Lavender Cheesecake. Yum is all I have to say. I highly recommend this place. The atmosphere feels modern beachy, chilled and earthy all at once. We look forward to coming back to this true oasis for vegans!

Very lovely! As a vegetarian person, I'd love the variety of the food. The shakes were so yummy. Prices are reasonable. Everytime I went there, I got excited about the quality and presentation of the food. Definitely recommend it. Nice memories.

Very pleasurable experience. Air con and comfy seats. Delicious fresh veggie food and perfect teas. I had the lasagne and ginger turmeric tea. Price is a bit more but it's worth it.

Staff very friendly and the atmosphere is very sleek and eco friendly. Only problem we had was my partner bumped his head on the low ceiling on the stairway. There was a warning sign but not easy to spot. However the staff offered him some tiger balm to put on his bump which I thought was lovely of them!

Beautifully fresh and healthy breakfast. Able to switch out all dairy for non-dairy options such as cashew milk or substitute cheese. Outdoors was really beautiful, top balcony is tiny but a great spot to get work done. Visa and MasterCard are accepted over $10. Dog friendly outdoors (not sure about indoors).. They do juice cleanses and delivery. Opens at 8am, super quiet when I arrived and a little busier by 10am. Great, attentive service.

Good healthy food in Phnom Penh with a good list of vegan and vegetarian options. Amazing coffee and delicious bites. Very relaxing and comfortable, the cafe is clean and the second floor makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
Bring a book or a laptop-it is a nice place to relax.

Loved it! Had the abundance bowl and a green smoothie. It was probably a little more salty (and sweet for the smoothie) than I’d make at home, but I’m a bit of a health freak. The taste was excellent, and I can’t wait to get back there and explore some more of the menu! Not cheap for Cambodia, but the quality was excellent, and it’s a bit of a niche product, so you will have to pay up. The staff were friendly and the service was quick.

Awesome cafe! A variety of delicious breakfast options, fresh drinks, good coffee & home-made cakes (try the lavender cheesecake). Seems a bit pricier, but everything is definitely worth it. You can also buy many of the ingredients and some natural cosmetic products and handicrafts. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Healthy food options which are very tasty by the way.
If you back packing prices might look too high, however if you are on holidays you can't miss it.

I had power bowl and it was very delicious, it was also big portions.

A brilliant place for breakfast or lunch that's healthy and wholesome. Been there twice in Two days and they yet to disappoint. Not the best coffee but the food is outstanding.

A cozy place with healthy, Western food. The menu had great options, everything from fresh juices, coffee and smoothies to avocado toast, omelets and veggie dishes.

I loved the zucchini cakes and my friend had an omelet, both of which were delicious.

A place to be at Phnom Penh!

Such a lovely coffee. The food is amazing and fresh. I ordered the Power bowl (7.5$). So huge and tasty.
I took a fresh coconut too.

The tips: review the coffee on Tripadvisor and you get a free protein bliss bite. Yummy!

I absolutely loved this cafe! I went there for breakfest and dinner for 3 days straight!
The staff is really nice, the food is just delicious and healthy. Try the chicken salad, the pesto is to die for!! I wish I had a place like this back home! And they have a large choice of raw vegan dessert! Absolutely yummy!!
They sell nuts and oils but they are quite expensive.

If you're vegan/vegetarian because you love to eat healthy (or raw) then you'll probably enjoy this place. If you're vegan/vegetarian for moral reasons, the food's certainly not bad but you may not enjoy it as much as the health based people.

The portions are on the smaller side, the flavors don't have a lot of impact. Eat here and you'll likely be eating again in a few hours as many of the options lack enough protein to sustain between meals.

Wait staff is always present downstairs, but upstairs they tend to disappear for long periods of time. Perhaps when they're busier they spend more time upstairs, but they should consider popping up once every 5 minutes or so even when they are slow.

Prices are on the higher side for Cambodia, although the food was fresh and clean, and that tends to mean higher prices. Prices are closer to what you would pay in the US for comparable food, than other places in Cambodia.

Backyard cafe has a lot of options for vegan, raw and gluten free diets. A good place if you have requirements such as these. The price is reasonable and we enjoyed the avocado on toast.

Best ever cafe I have been to for long time! I am very picky on food, but this place has 5 star service, 5 star atmosphere and 5 star menu and quality of food. And it's taste, of course must go if you miss cosy places with vegan (and not only) food. Lots of love!

Visited Backyard Cafe today and the experience lived up to their rating on Google.

A good thing to know is that the floor upstairs has more light and comfy space to sit and have a relaxed brunch while the ground floor only has tables.

The cafe is located close to the Palace area in an quiet alley that thankfully escapes the traffic horror of PP.

I tried the avocado mash on bread with some roasted tomatoes, a bit of salad and a generous slice of lemon to season the dish.
The experience was just perfect. Everything was seasoned to perfection and the bread was toasted to perfection, not hardened and extraordinarily delicious.

The Naughty but Nice gourmand smoothie was surprising with salted caramel small chunks that definitely made the drink deserve its given name.

The prices were very reasonable, the staff and service impeccable, the setting of sober and light good taste.

A highly recommended place in Phnom Penh that will hopefully be a source of inspiration for a city in an existential development crisis.
