Education is the most essential element for facilitating positive change. And each of us here in Cambodia has a stake in the educational landscape. As the younger generation, we would like to do positive things for our country after many years of wars and conflict.

It is the belief of Khmer people that more education means a more prosperous people and country. Thus, education benefits the entire nation. Stronger education translates into a high-quality labor force and high-quality human resources, as well as a population with a greater understanding of the world and an increased ability to participate at a global level.

Of course education first begins with children. And Cambodia is a very young country, with more than 70% of our population under the age of 30. Most young people are very enthusiastic about education, but many lack the ability to go to school. This is due to a number of factors, including the fact that many villages do not have schools, and many children who live near a school still cannot attend because they cannot afford to buy uniforms and school supplies.

The opportunity to provide young Cambodians who are eager to learn with good education and study opportunities is the best way to help the country and will contribute to a brighter future for Cambodia.
