  One of the warmest experience for homestay s in Kyrgyzstan so far. Loved the entire stay with this family of Mr. Abdullah Jan. Location , food, cleanliness, treatment everything just nice besides the fact we both spoke different language and only communicated through signs .
  Thank you very much for such experience. Had heard about the mehmannawazi by Uzbeks, just experienced that and I must say people are gem of heart :)god bless them.
  Definitely one must stay with them, but I would also request tourists to respect the Host's culture and treat them as owners of the place ,not tourists' servant, as we are just guests and homestay ain't a hotel.

  They had basic information. Was more interested in us paying for a homestay. Gave poor information about a camping spot. Wanted us to pay for camping but here in KG. you can camp in so many beautiful places for free. He told me of one place to camp for free, it was by a muddy river 30 km away. We camped just below the water fall in a beautiful place with a freash spring on both sides.

  CBT Arslanbob is very efficiently managed by English speaking Hayat who was extremely helpful with making travel, homestay and hiking arrangements. CBT Arslanbob is an excellent organisation.

  The only CBT in Kyrgyzstan that is worth working with! Arslanbob is a great place for summer trekking and winter ski touring. If you book a tour the prices can add up but in general its not so bad. I would make sure to bring all of your own trekking gear and Hayat has a few pairs of touring skis for rent, but I'm not sure the quality of the skis. In general they are doing great things and you can not come to Kyrgyzstan without going to Arslanbob!

  Hayat was very friendly and helpful over emails and calls but unfortunately couldn't be in Arslanbob. Instead we were hosted by his colleague, a slightly obnoxious man who made jokes about kidnapping me as a bride and went on about how people here can have 4 wives. As a female traveller this made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Nonetheless the CBT in Arslanbob is pretty essential for arranging homestays and treks to the walnut forest and beyond - I don't know of any other alternatives here.

  House # 7 in Gumkhana village - great hosts and great food for alow price. Right next to the walnut forest.
