I stayed at the hostel for 3 weeks in April 2018. Initially I intended to stay there for 1 week but was so impressed by services that I ended up staying there for my entire stay in Bishkek. Location convenient, rooms newly renovated clean and well kept, food court with great food but most of all Applle Hostel should be known for its friendly and kind staffs !

We stayed for 6 days in Apple hostel Bishkek. It's a lovely hostel with a very good location next to the bus station. Showers are hot and big, there is a nice space to hang out inside. If you are traveling by car it is possible to park the car at private property! Breakfast is included.

Apple hostel is a nice hostel with a decent location. The front desk staff are extremely helpful and speak English well. Towels are not always given in the rooms and there is currently a lot of construction happening in the lobby.

Very fast internet. The communal fridge is often filled with meat in various forms of decay - and the stench to accompany it. The lady that makes the beds goes to great lengths to do so at the most inconvenient times of the morning - including two instances where I was shaken to wake up.

We've had a very bad experience in Apple Hostel in Bishkek. Short version: they blamed us for something we didn't do (so we got in trouble with the police) and took our passports, so we almost missed our flight back. Long version: We've booked the hostel 3 times, 2 times with good experiences. The third time we came back we booked the double room again. It was 40 degrees outside and the airconditioning was broken. After one night without airco they said they will fix it that day, so we would have a working airco when we come back in the evening. When we came back in the evening the airco wasn't fixed, because the handyman doesn't work in the weekend (which they could have known the day and night before, ofcourse). First they wouldn't compensate us at all for the broken airco, after a long discussion they gave us a very small compensation (we couldn't leave cause it was late and we had to go to the airport in the morning). So we stayed and tried to sleep in the room. Then, in the middle of the night, the hostel employee came to knock our door and woke us up, telling us that our window was open (correct) and the airco was on (incorrect, it was broken). She told us to turn it off, otherwise they would have to give us a fine. We explained the situation and asked her to let us sleep. Then, after half an hour she was there again, with the same story. We asked her to let us - finally - sleep and agreed to pay the fine, just to avoid further discussion and to get some hours of rest. She kept on talking (quite loud, in the hall, in the middle of the night), so we closed the door. The next morning (when we had to go to the airport) there were two policemen knocking our door. Saying we have said bad words to the hostel employee and have pushed her away (which is abolutetely not true, we have never touched her and if I have said something not nice it was in Dutch. In English I've said 'leave us alone' and 'we'll never come back again'). So the policemen (or nephews of the hostel owner in a police costume) told us we didn't follow the law in Kyrgystan and we did something (blaming and touching a woman) you go to jail for for 3 days in Kyrgystan. They didn't speak English and the whole conversation went very slow (all we wanted was just to get our plane). In the end they let us go when we gave them money, so we could get our plane. So despite the two good times I would never take the risk to go to this hostel again. You can have a really good stay here (clean, friendly people), but if you say something about a small thing organized not that well (the not working airco), their reaction is absolutely unfair (lying and let the police take your passport). Luckily the police is that corrupt in Bishkek :) (we could just give them all our money we had left and didn't have to go the the police office and miss our flight).

Nice hostel in a good location with good attached restaurant, the rate of the review is drastically decreased because you should not given credit or take position against one of your guest just for what you listened if it not regarding the vacation in itself!

Beautiful place close to the Bus station! Which is a wonderful location. The staff is very friendly and helpful, good service.
Wifi is only in one spot though and cannot handle heavy traffic.
They also do not have Hot, or cold water on site. Have to go to to cafe around the corner. Which for the price you pay lost this place 1 star in my books.
Would recommend to friends though!

Apple Hostel is the perfect place for backpackers or simple tourist to start or finish a Kyrgyzstan trip. It's close to the western Busstation with very good link to Manas Airport.
You will find other travellers to exchange information or simply to have a chat.
They offer dormitories for the budget travellers or single / double rooms. Both of them are clean. The rooms have private showers.
At the reception they speak good English. There are mostly some excursions on offer for those who need to get some orientation.
On the same premises is a cafeteria were also breakfast is served.
Currently (2017) they are improving the house so there is some construction site.

Far from the centre but right next to the bus station. Breakfast is very poor. Everyone you've met in Kyrgyzstan will probably stay here at some point, so its a good place to make travel buddies if on your own.

Fantastic staff, English spoken well by the people on the desk. Rooms are warm, wifi good, although not the best in the dorms.
Staff will help you out recommending places to go, trips to go on, and will organise taxis anywhere around town. It's a little far out from the town centre, but a $1.50 taxi gets you there in a few minutes.
Cheap, cheerful, and free breakfast in the mornings. Couldn't ask for much more. I've stayed there twice in the last 6 weeks, and would stay there again if I were to return to Bishkek.

Excellent hostel, made perfect by the staff. They also organise excellent tours around Kyrgyzstan for a very affordable price - and there's always plenty interesting backpackers to have drinks with. There's a cheap canteen next door too, which decent food. I don't know what happened to the guy below but the staff was nothing but kind throughout my stay!

Would visit again in a heartbeat

“ABUSIVE STAFF, DANGEROUS LOCATION! AVOID!!!”
A family ran business, offensive behaviour, with managers and staff always on the verge of a nervous breakdown, shouting at you in public for trying to me with the staff.
It SHAMEFUL to see how they abuse workers, look down on them and forbid them even to communicate on Facebook with clients. THEY ARE CONTROL FREAKS AFRAID THE TRUTH IS KNOWN.
LOCATION IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, SPECIALLY FOR WOMEN. NEAR THE OSH MARKET!!!
And, of course, they try their best to keep your money and even threatened to sue you (I got my money back anyway). They defame you saying that you are trying to 'date a the staff', but in fact, the manager keep organising parties as long as the manager is present is fine. THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO MEET ANY OF THE STAFF, WHICH DON'T LAST LONG IN THE HOSTEL ANYWAY.
This is an excerpt from the extremely aggressive, offensive and rude Manager Aigul:

"Well, first of all, because you have blocked my account I couldn't reply to you through MY company page. So next time think about the way to communicate before blocking.
Secondly, I had all the rights to not give you back your money. Why? Because the discount you received was for long term stay. You have already paid for the hostel for 10 days due to which you received the discount. No matter how long you stay at the hostel you get the discount when the payment is made for 10 days. Moreover, you paid through a credit card machine. So I could have made you swipe your card and give you back your money back on your card. We PAY about 5% commission for using the machine. But despite that I gave you back in cash. So as I am reading now it seems ricidulois about the threats you made in my address. If I were to read your first message I would have let you go ahead and sue me.
And finally, I did not abuse you in any way. It is actually YOU who have cursed all my family, blackmouthed everyone who work here. So have I the written form of everything you said to me - I would have the rights to sue you. It is you who kept asking girls for date which is NOT allowed in the hostel. And yes, it is my business and in my interest to make the laws to protect my staff from abuse from tourists like you. I have been working in tourism for the 4 years and among thousands of tourists I met NONE of them had ever accused me of disrespect and abuse. So before making accusations THINk twice.

No hot water in the shower.
Ordered a taxi for the airport, they waited for me to go to sleep and woke me up to tell me that I have to pay in advance. Went back to sleep. Then they woke me up again just to tell me that they accidentally put me in some other man's bed and that I have to move. And, they charged 10 som for printing a bloody plane ticket, it's really nothing but makes you feel awkward, paying for one piece of paper. Place looks OK, clean and all but I ain't coming back.
