Xposha Self Help Theatre Group

Xposha Group was established in 2004, it works with communities in Western region of Kenya. Xposha has previously worked in Nandi, Vihiga, Kakamega and Kisumu Counties.
The group works in 2 program areas ie Health and Governance and human rights.

1. Currently, under health, the organization has 2 projects
a. Tunaweza project and HIV prevention project in Vihiga County (funded by Elizabeth Glazier Pediatric Aids Foundation -EGPAF). The interventions under the project are Families Matter! - Targeting 9-12s, Healthy choices for a better future - Targeting 10-13s, healthy choices 2- targeting 13-17s, Prevention with positives (PwP) targeting PLWHAs, Peer education -targeting youth aged 18-35 in high risk groups and HIV testing and counseling targeting the whole community . The project has been implemented from 2011 - date
b. Reproductive health project (funded by IPAS) the project promotes access to reproductive health services amongst the youth in Vihiga County. The main focus of the project is prevention of unwanted pregnancies and access to post abortion services in the health sector
c. OVC project (funded by APHIA PLUS- WESTERN). The project support 2049 OVC from Sabatia sub-county. Under the project, we are able to offer shelter, school fees, clothing, psychosocial support, agricultural inputs support among other support to the OVCs and their caregivers

2. Under governance and human rights project
a. Uchaguzi bora project (Funded by URAIA TRUST) the project offers civic eduaction to the communities in Kisumu, Nandi and Vihiga for effective engagement with the duty bearers to ensure effective governance
