Interesting with how little one can operate an “airport”. Real ‘green field approach’ but the closest to beautiful Diana Beach. And: you don’t need to take the ferry if you travel via Mombasa Airport. Offers affordable direct legs to Safari parks.

Ukunda airstrip known as HKUK offers a great unmanned facility for tourist wanting to enjoy the coastal beaches within ukunda also it is a hub for the Kenya School of flying and its sister company Aeronav air charters that offers a great and safe travel for short connecting flights as for the student training program it allows the student with a lot of challenges such as high crosswinds and the narrowness of the runway makes it a good challenge sharpening the minds of young aspiring pilots

Works well for a small town airport! We decided to splurge on the return flight to Nairobi while our friends took the bus through Mombasa. The 1 hour flight was well worth the cost, our friends spent 15 hours commuting by bus. Book well ahead of time for the best rates, but you can often still find a ticket within a few days of departure.
