  Our family had an amazing stay at Sanctuary Farm. This place is truly special. Situated on a 500 acre working farm you are surrounded by old growth trees, sunflowers and WILDLIFE! The property is filled with zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, monkeys, and hippos. All of the animals are used to the constant presence of people, and so are very chill as you walk around the beautiful grounds.
  
  The food is served buffet style at the "club house" using local, fresh ingredients. It was hands down the best meals we've eaten anywhere in Kenya. Just amazing. Even better is the chance to lounge on the cushions / daybeds, watching the animals and world go by while you slowly enjoy your meal (and maybe take a nap)
  
  The best part of our stay though was the staff. The owner "guy" who took over the farm from his father, is clearly passionate about the property and the animals and has many funny stories from his decades on the farm. "Ash" who manages the hospitality side of the business was an absolute joy. She wander around making sure each first feels completely at home. She's hilarious and we became fast friends.
  
  I can tell that Sanctuary Farm is a very popular weekend destination for young families who want to escape the chaos of Nairobi. It truly is a sanctuary of peace.
  
  The relaxing was only interrupted by our swim in the very nice, but slightly chilly pool, a private boat ride to see the hippos, and a horseback ride around the substantial property, part of which used to be a polo grounds.
  
  We took one morning to go to Crescent Island, which was a very pleasant stroll, but honestly there are more animals within Sanctuary Farm than in the island, it at least it feels that way because it's more compact. I would suggest saving the USD$90 that we paid to go to the island (plus boat) and enjoy your time at Sanctuary instead.

  У отеля есть плюс и он один: это территория. Да, тут свободно пасутся зебры, атилопы гну, буйволы и жирафы. Это не ручные животные, а дикие. Они приходят из саванны. Вы можете подойти к жирафу настолько близко, насколько позволит ваше бесстрашие :-) Мне позволило метров на 5.
  В остальном это обычный двухзведочный отель со спартанской обстановкой в номере, каменным полом, муравьями и очень паршивой едой. Дали недожаренную резиновую утку, немного овощей - вот и весь ужин, ушли голодными, а больше нигде не поешь, от цивилизации вы оторваны. На завтрак - весьма скромный выбор по меню. При этом на новогодние даты номер в отеле стоил $330. Стоит оно того ? Решать вам.
