A truly awesome place.I would have rated it 5 star if the wet floors in the changing rooms are dried constantly and towel holders in the bathrooms are fixed.

Got to spend my birthday here.Its a really relaxing and fun place to be.The water is so warm and the smell really connects you to mother nature. I actually had a glow after my day here.LOVED IT!

Nice place to visit and my family and I enjoyed the warm waters of the spa. Great backdrop of the Geothermal well heads just beyond the pools.
PROS:
Warm waters, large pool, and great scenery to and from the Spa as you drive. We chose to enter through the Hell's Gate entrance and see the wildlife first then finish with a swim at the spa. The water is very warm and relaxing and you will be tempted to stay longer than you planned. The water has a slight sulphur smell but don't let that deter you from swimming. There are two pools: 1 big one for adults which has a shallow zone and then a separate one for kids. There is also a small play area with slides and swings. There was also a restaurant with hot meals available. There are a few baboons around so keep an eye on your food.
CONS:
To regulate the temperature of the water, the staff at the spa let in hot water into the pools. This water can be very, very hot and the water inlets are not well marked so keep an eye out for the water inlets. At the baby pool, the inlet is not marked at all and we had to keep warning the kids not to get close to the hot water inlet. I think the staff should put up red flags so that people know when hot water is being added.
Take care when getting into the pools. There are steps in the water but you won't see them because the water is not clear. The big pool is not deep though at 1.5 meters. There is a restaurant but you have to order and get the food yourself.
The showers have been neglected which is a big shame. The men's showers had poor lighting and the showers had cold water and none of them had working handles. My wife used the ladies shower to wash the kids and she told me the situation was the same.
No towels are available so carry your own. Not many sitting places available either and the lockers in the changing rooms do not work.
TIPS
Go early in order to make the most out of your time there. Since you have to pay park fees (the spa is inside the Hell's Gate National Park) no matter which gate you use to enter the park, you might as well tour the park. Use the Hell's Gate main entrance then get a tour guide to show you around the park. Our guide took us around the park then left us at the spa after which we used the Olkaria Gate to exit the Park. Park fees were Kshs 300 per adult citizen, Kshs 215 for kids over 3 yrs and the spa fees were Kshs 400 for adults and 100 for kids. Expect to pay the tour guide between Kshs 1,000 and Kshs 2,500 depending on your bargaining ability :). The park tour was about 1.5hrs long and we swam for about 3 hrs.response / report this review -

A good day out for the family. Just look out, N their website it says you are allowed to bring your own food although that has now changed.
