One of the most beautiful hills I've been to. The ingenius water catchment projects that were set up in the 70s are still operational.
The walk in the all natural forest plus the waterfall makes one feel like he is walking through the set of an epic movie.
The summit is about 2,500m high but the climb starts at around 2000 making it a relatively easy climb for the majority.

I'm definitely going back. But this time I want to camp there so that I can visit all the spots I didn't get to see in the day hike.

The actual peak is a Designated Broadcast Transmitter Site by the Communications Authority of Kenya so naturally it is protected. They do let people in but no photography is allowed. This shouldn't discourage anyone however, considering the beauty of Nyambene Hills is not in the peak, it's in the mountain itself.

An anticlimax. Full of communication equipment. No photos allowed. Surrounded by thick forest and offers no view of what's below. Huge water catchment area
