Dung beetles, rhinos, big tuskers and awesome birding. Our good friend and awesome guide, Simon Belcher (Royal African Safaris) said we'd love Menu, and he was right. The preserve is back from nothing only a generation ago. Thank goodness.

It's in the wild. There are lions, leopards and all the big five. Extremely hot weather in Dec but for an experience in wild and untamed with few modern convenience. Mary National park it is. Friendly guides.

Many of the big five are present: Lions, Elephants, Rhinos and Buffalos. Visit the Rhino sanctuary, the swamp and pool as they are the most iconic places in the park. Note that the road to Murera Gate is in very poor condition so plan your visit accordingly: a vehicle with good ground clearance. The climate is generally hot and dry in the park and the nearest shopping center is a bit far so bring lots of water and adequate food. Ask for a ranger to escort you for the tour at the gate since the park is huge.

Greta park with very nice terrain. We went with our guide Charles in a old open safari Land Rover. It got a bit intense when we found ourself in the middle of a big pack of Elephants 100+ but we managed to drive away saftly. We saw no Big Cats and no one else we meet on the road either that day unfortunalty! Over all a great experiance

A hidden gem that suprised us beyond our expectations. We visited this park for 2 days and compared to other trips, we felt like we were at one with nature. We only saw 2 other visitors/vehicles during the entire 2 days we were here. We felt like we had the park all to ourselves.
We spotted tons of animals and when we found the lions, there was no other tourists jamming the road & fighting for a view like it had been on other safaris. We hang out with the cats for hours and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Honestly Meru national park has one of the best diversity of environments from large plains, arid areas then you have 3 large rivers crossing through giving it the oasis jungle through. To really absorb this vast park pls take 3-4days.

Nice park with excellent roads other than the road from Mau Meru road to the gate (Murera gate) thats full of potholes. Did not manage to see Lions though but saw many other animals especially giraffes and Elephant whom we faced off on the road. The traffic is minimal compared to mara so if you need a place to relax and enjoy the wild Go to Meru, if you want to see lions go to Mara. Entrance to Meru park is relatively cheap i paid about 2600 2 adults and 3 kids for 2 days in Mara i paid more than 10,000 for the same.

A true savannah with lots of wildlife free to roam around. Giraffes and water buffalo are common and there is a rhino preserve open to tours. I stayed at Elsa's Kopje and highly recommend their game drives

Beautiful park with lush verdant savanna. Lots of animals, and good roads.
