I went as part of a group tour. I thought better cleaning can be done on the pool. In addition, i thought the food was ok

The place is very very hot. Theres ample parking, good food and a swimming pool. The only good accommodation in Magadi Town.

The annex is a situated at the sports club an ideal spot for couples and families. The rooms are self-contained, made of ceramic tiles, has a reading table and fitted with DStv (satellite TV). Compared to the tents, the annex has bigger bed with mosquito nets (though mosquitos are very few around)

Have good chips and fishyou may need to be careful of wet bathrooms as they serve as changing rooms too for the swimmers especially during the weekend

For the location it was nice. Simplistic but a bit too costly for what it offers!

Magadi Sports Club reminds me of tented accommodation at the maasai mara such as Ashnil. The one advantage it has over the Mara is that there are no restrictions to power. However, Magadi is very hot (average 38 degrees Celsius) and the water is salty. If you choose to get away for the weekend, this three or so hours drive might be what you need. You can pack a few light vests, short shorts and a lot of sunscreen. The water tastes a bit different so you might want to carry some (or a lot) just to ensure that you hydrate after sweating. Now, with every good there is some bad. The service at Magadi Sports Club is very poor. The staff can be hard to communicate with perhaps due to insufficient training but this can quickly spoil your otherwise awesome experience. However, the club offers a local to prepare the meat for you (if you choose) and believe me, that meat is the most tender meat you will have. All in all, I enjoyed my weekend and I would consider going back. Oh one more thing - the first fuel station is an hour and a half away at Kiserian shopping center so you might want to go with a full tank :-).
