It is the largest Ministry of Health facility in Lunga Lunga sub-county, Kwale County but sadly, lacks some key services. For instance, the laboratory is not able to do some basic tests because it lacks the equipment to do so. The sub-county health management team's offices are also located within the compound of this hospital. It's a busy facility that also serves as a referral centre for the peripheral MoH dispensaries and health centres. The Kenya- Tanzania border is just about 5km from the hospital.
