  The best campsite by a lake with views of the mountains on the Tanzanian side. Not easily accessible during the rainy season. Very affordable too.

  Campsite right by the lake just inside the Tsavo Lake Jipe gate. Lots of space for any number of tents however shade is at a premium. There are also bandas available for non campers. Flush toilets and showers available. Hippos and elephant coming right up to the campsite which is extremely exciting with lots of bird life around the lake as well. Fantastic views across the lake of the Pare mountains in Tanzania. Beers and soft drinks available at the rangers station just a short walk away. Safaricom cell network extremely intermittent and cannot be relied upon.

  This place is a hidden gem. You will love the tented rooms and the price is fair on the upper side of your wallet since they charge per head, not per room. The food is ok for a place that makes their meals fresh on order since they don't get much visitors' traffic. The road to the lodge is a piece of art, don't go without a 4WD. Visa/MasterCard/Amex don't work although there is a beautiful sign that says they accept cards, cash rules on this side or the plains.
  If you are lucky like our group, elephants will be grazing nearby.

  with roaring hippo all the night
  they are only 20m
  and sunset to the lake is perfect
  
  you must bring your food and drink
  
  room is clean and hot shower is good
