The baobab trees (Tree of Life) are amazing,we were not allowed in the Masque because we were women. Worth a visit just for the trees and ocean view. The Congo river meets the Indian Ocean.

They tried to makes us paid a lot of money for the entrance. We believe they did not want us to go inside. It was not well conserved and they were not too friendly with visitors. Hands down, the area is amazing and Tiwi beaches are wonderful but going there just for the mosque is not worth it at all.

historical mosque built in 1300s but not much info about it. Situated in a beautiful location on south side of the estuary of the Tiwi river. You need to pay to park on the grounds but you can access it from the North beach near Tiwi twiga lodge by walking down the beach at low tide.
