I was captivated when I first same Mt. Kilimanjaro from this camp. It was amazing. The food is good too!
It has a nice view for Kilimanjaro
Good for budget travellers. Tents have electricity, warm shower and toilet inside
Simple but perfect mid-safari lunch :-)
Good place for budget tours.
The camp site has an excellent location, overlooking the beautiful Mt . kilimanjaro from your breakfast area. But the tents bathrooms are very badly maintained no proper drains, no hot showers, beds are very uncomfortable and staff dint accommodate or help with any of the above mentioned issues. There are better tents and camps in the area. This one is best avoided.
Good budget very close to main gate
Very good! Better than expected. Don't know for camping, but the cabin we got during our safari was great, with full bathroom, mosquito net and sockets. Common area was nice. Staff wasn't the nicest, but good in general. Very very close to Amboseli NP (5 min)
Better than expected given the reviews I read. We got a cabin with ensuite bathroom. The windows were covered with mosquito net and there was a socket inside the cabin to charge phones and cameras. The bed was ok. The dining area was ok, and they offered beer and water. Good value and really close to the park entrance.
We have tent camped all over Africa for the past 7 months. We don't require a lot to be happy. This was absolutely the worst campsite we have stayed at. The place where we were expected to camp was essentially the parking lot. (No biggie for us) but the huge problem is that they do not clean the area at all and there are thorns EVERYWHERE. We spent 20 minutes trying to clean the area and when we woke up both of our mats were flat. The thorns punctured through our tent and thermarests in 7 different places. Then we tried to speak to them about our concerns the manager just walked away mid sentence. We had to stay an additional night, tried to patch up our mats and spent an hour cleaning an area with sticks. At no point did anyone from the camp (there were about 10-15 people working there) offer any help. We tried to call the office in Nairobi to complain and they said they would contact the camp. After calling them another 5 times they just kept saying they couldn't get ahold of the camp. We told them that we were not planning to pay $20 a night for camping when they did not clean the camping area. We told them we were leaving at 6:45 in the morning and to have the manager meet us at 6:15. The manager came at 7 and proceeded to argue with us saying that our mats and tent are very cheap in Mombasa to replace. (2 thermarests and 1 UL mountain hardwear tent) We argued with him for 30 minutes, gave him $10 and left. By which he basically spat at our feet when we walked away. If you do plan to stay there bring a tarp and your patience.
