  Best performing in the county. Its a mixed day and boarding. School has playing ground and offers all sports. It has a school bus for day to day student activities out of the school. The school also has a bakery which serves the community and the students

  I joined this High School in 2001 with a K.C.P.E. result of 461 out of 700 during that time. That score had earned me a vacancy in a provincial school, “Kabungut High School”, but it was not one of my dream schools but I still wanted to attend because it was far away from home as well and also a developed school. My dream of joining Tenwek High School also failed after several attempts to get admitted through family friends. I was qualified but with lack of motivation from parents due to lack of resources to support me while attending school.
  I was admission 081, life was rough during that time, we used to have all these guys “Transfers” but I called them rejects from bigger “schools” that used to bully us, calling us common names as, “mono’s or form one” which according to me was right because it means one or simply ninth grader. To cut the story short, I ended up being a Head Boy/Captain between 2003-2004, I was not smart but I worked hard together with my juniors who were in form three by then. I was also a Christian Union leader and I believed I did my best and I don’t regret about the leadership during the entire time because it implanted discipline and self-respect in me. It also drew me closer to God and made me work extra hard in order to earn respect while in that position. Principal during that time was M.K Cheruiyot, he was an eye opener and not a local who would buy indulge any fitina from the village, it was common and it was the main thing that was hindering learning in school. Most teachers were not permanent, so they came and go.
  I finally graduated with a mean Grade of “C” plain; I was satisfied because I really worked hard for it. At the moment I have Bachelor’s Degree in public Health specializing in Psychosocial Health from Fort Lewis College, Colorado-Estimated tuition fee for entire four years was $132,000 (you can literally do the math). Now doing my Master’s Degree in Health Care Science and work for United States Navy. Right now if you ask me how much I make a month, I would say probably several times more than what the current Principal makes. If you happen to read this review, just know that you don’t need an “A” plain to succeed, just do what you are capable of, pray and keep up the good work. Hats off to all those teachers who worked tirelessly to change some lives. That school so far has two other gentlemen in United States of America i.e. an engineer in US Army and Administrator in a University. Hurray Kabusare!! Long life!!
