  One the best meat joints I have been to. Conveniently located on the highway with ready to eat meat that is so juicy and succulent. This is a must visit if you ever find yourself around chuka. There are also some ladies who sell produce outside the restaurant which is a plus

  Hilltop Bar and Restaurant is a traditionally set relaxing spot located on the serene ambiance of the Nithi River Slopes. It is known for its delicious barbecue (nyama choma) and its "makuti" thatched partitions named after various landmarks in East Africa such as Mt. Kenya, Serengeti etc. For decades, Hilltop has been known to be a MUST stop over for motorists travelling along the Meru-Nairobi highway. Its strategic position is complemented by the many referrals from previous visitors and the inviting aroma of "nyama choma" making it one of the most preferable stop overs for commuters and also an awesome chill spot for the locals. It is one of the places in Tharaka Nithi county you surely should visit.
