Background

The institute of Peace Studies and International Relations was established in August 2004, in response to the growing need to build intellectual capacity for conflict management and peace building in war-torn Africa. It institutionalizes the discussions, reflections, views and aspirations of NGO staff, scholars and students meeting under the auspices of the Hekima Peace Forum in the 1990s. The Institute is one of the two departments of Hekima College. The other department is Theology.
