Very inconsiderate service. People have to wait outside for collection from 9am to past 11 am just because a staff decided to take a cup of tea Wow how human!!! No regards to other people's agenda or work schedule!!

If you have inquiries, you will have to consult the guards at the ground level. Only people with appointments go up to the embassy floor. Very prompt in processing visa, took 2 days. And about 4 days to book an appointment.

I would like to register a complaint regarding the ridiculous operational practices at the French Embassy in Nairobi. I requested and applied for a visa which I promptly paid for and furnished the consulate with the required documentation. I was only going to France to attend the Open Government Summit on Energy and Climate change, as a Development practitioner and a Human Rights activist. As a participant in many processes in the global north, I as a good Kenyan, and Pan African of good standing have always enjoyed a friendly atmosphere working with your colleagues from Europe. On the last three hours, I have had to cancel my trip and participation and representation of citizens in that very meeting convened by World Resource Institute and HIVOS which are respected organisations in the name of your printing machine not able to function in printing my visa, yet I am aware other Kenyans were given the visa as I witnessed them collecting them. This is so bad since also when applying, I remember one official at the Embassy interviewed me and assured me that I should pick my visa today the 2nd December 2016 at 9a.m. This is after having gone through my documents and approved and accepted the same. However, this was not the case. This is done, and I wish to let you know that I did not have any intentions whatsoever to come into your country with any ill motives. I am a proud African and I love my country and my land! The resentment and tension among my fellow participants is an unhealthy byproduct of this decision which I feel is in bad taste. The event has existed for years with a minimum of problems; except now that my 60 hard earned Euros and donor funds for my flight and hotel booking have gone to waste and also you have closed space of me as civil society to influence policy and decisions made at global level that affect my people. I would very much like to see an official review of this case. This is the kind of Inequality we fight in this world ! Look specifically at the efficiency of your system. If the consulate wished to deny me a visa, let them attempt to do so through viable, straightforward means. God bless Kenya! God bless motherland Africa!
