    Sets going for ¥3800 each.

First you are given a whole range of sides ranging from an onsen egg, Konnyaku with yuzu sauce, and some anchovies. This is followed by a hotpot of about 5-6 pieces of tofu per person which you can dip with their soy sauce. After this, rice is served with vegetarian tempura (sweet potato, pumpkin, ginger). The set finishes off with a tofu dessert with strawberry sauce on the top.

Nice clean and healthy meal with a very nice rustic atmosphere that you eat it in.

They only have 1 type of menu but delicious nonetheless. The tofu are clouds of yummy fluffiness. We seated in the tatami area facing the garden. Nice place for lunch before (or after) walking around the area / bamboo forest.

Seating with great views. Food is good for vegetarian but the portions are really small. So you fill up with Tofu which is great too.

Honestly I can't have an objective opinion. I didn't like anything but the steamed rice. Not because the food was not good, I'm just not too much in for those kind of tastes. Everyone around me ate everything!
The garden is so peaceful and beautiful too !

So worth the 3800yen for a set menu and the most beautiful surrounding. The star of the menu is tofu of course. So be prepared to get tofu'd!!!

Contrary to all reviews, the staff just said "fish in everything" and went back inside. We don't actually dislike the place but it was a disappointment after a long hike. The one star is mostly to improve the chances that you will read this review rather than a strong negative. The grounds are beautiful, but don't expect service if you say you are vegetarian.

A great authentic Kyoto experience! We loved the soft tofu boiled at our table as well as all the accompaniments. I think the meal was vegan aside from the optional dish full of tiny fish and a jellyfish dish. There was an English menu, but all the other diners in our room were Japanese. Gorgeous grounds and relaxing atmosphere-- a great place to fuel up and recharge.

For a guy that loves meat, this is the best rating I can give, which is very high. I came for lunch and all they served was a set menu for 3200 Yen. There was no meat involved, just tofu and some brilliant tempura veggies. I especially loved the onion and sweet potato tempura, along with most of the appetisers. If you have an open mind and wallet, this is worth going.

Great service. The staff were patient and tried to explain the menu to a non-native speaker.

I gave 3 stars to the food and an extra star for the environment so altogether 4 stars. Don't come here just for the food as it offered one set tofu lunch only - it was okay and not much to say if you don't like tofu. The Japanese garden inside the restaurant was a nice surprise.

Tofu based set meal for 3,800 yen, the food portions are tiny but varied, quite filling even for a big eater. No meat, but it's something different to try. Best part is that it's slightly further away from the main tourist spots, so it's really peaceful and quiet and worth a visit!

Tofu based food, very unique and fresh. You need to be open minded, they barely speak English and while I am very much a carnivore who thinks Tofu is a non starter I really had a great time
