Beautiful architecture, thought provoking, calming, quiet, an interesting space. Fab light. Rei Naito’s water art is simple, playful, fascinating, however, it’s not a museum. It’s an art installation.

Worth building an entire trip around. Don't miss this place if you're on Teshima; if you're on Naoshima, take the ferry; if you're anywhere in Japan, build it into your itinerary. Go to Japan for it!

A multi-dimensional art experience for all senses. If you see only one art piece in Japan, come here. You could spend so much time studying the tiny fountains and how water behaves around them

A transcendent experience. One of the most thought provoking artworks I've ever seen. It made me think of evolution, karma, spirituality. You will walk the path out of that dome a different person.

Beautiful, quiet space with water moving like quicksilver across the surface. Not for the fidgity, though. ;-) Can recommend the small café next door for a quick coffee before heading out.

One of the most amazing spaces you'll visit. Some people complain that pictures are not allowed (some even do it anyway) but really, it's understandable. It helps keeping the atmosphere the way it is.
